Im needing a good all year round tire. My fiancee and i have five children so i am not trying to spend outrageous but i know it wont be cheap. Opinions on decently priced all season tires? Also., i have size 225 45 17 tires on. Would it help to thicken the tires? Thanks in advance.
The answer is no, do not go larger, it would be beneficial to go back to the stock size (thinner) of 215/45-17. I'd recommend the Nitto Motivo tires, I've had them and so have others on this site over the years. They are really good in dry/wet and snow up to about 4 inches. (just go slow). They handle and brake very well. They're about $112 a tire right now at discount tire direct. All prices are going up due to inflation so this is actually a good price, even the no-name chinese are about that much now!
what brand were the tires you installed two months ago?? I'd be checking that car's wheel alignment and suspension immediately, because that's insane wear!
EDIT: here's a link to discount tire direct.. i've been very happy with their service over the years.. https://www.discounttiredirect.com/buy-tires/nitto-motivo
