Ok...so im thinking about getting the NIA lip kit for the summer. And it just so happens that i have TRD springs in a box sitting collecting dust. I want to be lowered but here on long island the roads aren't always nice and neither are driveways. So with that being said, the NIA kit sits 2" lower from the stock bumper which it attaches to and with TRd i know they drop 1.25 all around. What is the likely hood of me screwing up the kit. So i want some people opinions on that and on why you decided to lower your car? Is it better? More of a Pain in the butt? lol talk it up i wanna here some ideas please and thank you
I'm on Tanabe NF210 springs sitting on TRD struts/shocks. I have to take driveways at sharp angles and still graze them a bit if I come into the turn too quickly. Other than that, just make sure you watch where you park and how close you get to curbs. I've seen lots of cars with busted front lips due to the stupidity of the driver.

I love my setup and like its stance. I'm about 1.75" dropped overall and the ride quality as well as the visual is nice to me.
Im dropped, but Im sitting at around 2.25" lower than stock. I wouldnt be able to put a lip kit on or it would be busted in a week. On TRD though, I think you could manage it, but you learn to be careful about how you drive real quick.
I dropped my car because it looked way sexier then at stock height. I was dumped on coilovers at about 3"+ with a lip kit
your best bet is to talk to the local tC owners who are lowered... to make sure what is a safe drop and all that good stuff
okie sounds good just getting a feel of ppls thoughts on it lol
I'm lowered and I like it because it looks dead sexy
as a fellow new yorker who lives 10 minutes from garden city...

i dropped my car cause i love the way it looks dropped. i have tanabe df210's which is LOW in the rear...i love the way they look but i would prolly go with either tanabe nf210's or s-techs or h-techs if u are just looking to do springs

coilovers are good so u can adjust the height to ur liking...

as far as dealing with the ny roads...the bumps are harder and it can be a pain but i think its worth it...driving on the ny highways is alot more fun with the handling more responsive.

best bet would be coils, but springs and struts work too...
im just afraid of cracking the new kit thats coming lol
or you could sell me those dusty spring

    wat kit are u getting?
I'm lowered on TRD springs. Nice drop, good ride quality, and decent handling. I've had no issues with driveways. And I don't mind swerving around potholes.

sorry didnt read ur original post...

i have the rs1 lip on my car, with a 1.5 drop on the front...i rarely touch on driveways or anything, just have to take them carefully...going at them at an angle and slowly will always help...
that wasnt menat to be like duh! it was more like silly!

theyre not dusty at all there still in plastic haha, and i got a buy from Ca but if he falls thru ill hit you up

and the kit im getting is the NIA lip kit. they told me it sits 2" lower from the bumper so that kinda turned me off from installing the springs, plus i was thinking of doing a coil over setup
^^^ yea yea yea i kno i kno lol....i shoulda read first

but yea...wit the trd springs and nia lip kit u should be fine...
hahah its ok, im selling them for now anyways need the cash for school, and i can do a set up. but since your from around here you really dont have that much trouble being lowered?
If you're going with the NIA lip kit, I recommend the TRD springs. That isht is low, even on stock height.
nah i mean i hate ny for the way they make the highways..its like they put speed bumps on the highways and shit...but u get use to it pretty quick.

    wat to watch for
1- pot holes (regardless if ur dropped this is a concern in ny)
2- high curbs wen people open ur doors
3- those damn cement blocks wen u are parking
4- steep driveway entrances..not many in ny but there are a few that u gotta go slow and angled

its really all stuff u get use too, plus ull fall in love with how ur car looks
