When I got it the only thing it obviously needed was struts/shocks. I bought a pre-assembled package that comes with the mounts and springs and is ready to mount. Mounted them up and now am noticing clunking and low speeds front and back. I don't remember if it was there before but def there now. Swapped out all 4 endlinks hoping that would help and it did not really. Then did rear sway bar bushings and still nothing. Also went back and checked any mounting bolts previously touched, including the the bolt that mounts the mount to the strut in case it was loose from assembly.
My question is are the strut towers stamped in a certain way to where the parts have to bolt up a specific way? Wondering now if I mounted them wrong. Is there suppose to be a bushing or washer between the mount and tower? Handling is not affected, it is just it is really annoying to me before I get on the highway and I no longer here it.
nope no bushing between the mount and tower. What you should be asking is the obvious, what's wrong with the pre-assembled struts/shocks that you installed. That's the source of the noise. How do I know? Well on my project civic I went cheap and got those pre-assembled struts, worst crap I ever put on a car! They blew out in less than 6 months and I was clanging and making noises. It was riding on the bump stops! I didn't even hit any potholes or anything bad! Junk, simple, just junk!
so your problem is from the pre-assembled struts, warranty them out, or buy something better. But no need to blame the tC, it's junk parts.. sad but true..
