2010 tc, 3000 miles on it. My battery voltage fluctuates from 13.7 to 13.8, that's hella low, previous car are usually around 14.2 plus, is this normal for the tC? This thing is brand new! Where is ur voltage sitting at?

    Note:
Amperage and voltage is diff., amperage changes with engine speed and load.
12.5-12.7 is idle voltage for a "good" battery. If a battery is bad, it won't hold anything over 11 volts at idle. Driving voltage for our tCs is normal to fluctuate between 13.5-14.1. Scangauge is set to read out voltage, so I see 13.7-14.1 all the time.
12.5 to 12.7 idle bat voltage? U mean with the car off, with the car running it should be round 14.0, so 13.6 is"normal"?
Any input on this output guys? Where is ur voltage at?
13.7 to 14 is about average for the TC.

Battery when turned off should read between 11.5 and 12.2
If you are over 14.8 and up, generally you have a voltage regulator issue.

Yes, sorry for not clarifying. 12.5-12.7 is with vehicle off and a brand new battery. 11.5 is pretty low for a cold start voltage. 12 is usually considered low for good batteries with the vehicle off.

And yes, 13.5-14.1ish is normal for our car.
I have an Optima Yellow Top Battery and a ScanGaugeII in my 2006 Scion tC and at idle my tC's voltage reads 13.6-13.9. This is normal for a tC, while driving you'll see a slight increase. If your voltage drops lower than atleast 10amps than I'd be concerned. Have you considered buying a scangaugeII or a voltage meter?

Yeah Web but a battery sitting at 11.5 is one that is older (does not mean bad). My optima red top will drop to 11.5 if it sits for a day or two of not being driven the cars electronics drain as the car sits.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that after only 24-48 hours a battery would discharge that much, even with audio....but if that's what you experienced, I'm not going to argue.

I've diagnosed and worked on so many cars, but I've never seen that be the case unless the vehicle had a bad ground, or a charging system issue in general (internal/external alternator voltage regulator not charging battery properly or battery just losing cell power). But, not arguing.....I can't argue for your car's experience.
