My old beater camry never had any issues (with non-studded snowtires) on the worst days up little or big cottonwood canyons. I doubt Boston's snow compares much with 10% incline and 1.5 ft dump (on the good days ;) )
Anyways I went down to big O, and the snowtires altogether with service is around $710; which is more than a season's pass. I might just get some thule chains and try rallying up the hill that way. I'll let you guys know if/when I fall off into a ravine...
just remember you are driving a smaller version of the Camry
you wont have any problems with the tC in snow! especially if you drive a standard!
I got thru last year in Pennsylvania with record amount snow
and I didnt even have snow tires!
remember to downshift when coming to a stop
keep a safe distance
we already have anti-lock breaks
and if you get stuck start out in 2nd to help get you out
If you do get snow tires I dont see anyone having a problem at all
