So I was changing the pulley tensioner on my 08 Scion tC. The bottom part looks different, I doubt I ordered the wrong part, they all look the same online. When I put the new one on there is no way to put the nut on vs the old I’m not sure what to do. Idk how to post pics so I added the post I have on Reddit.

I'm thinking that your part you removed is NOT a Toyota part at all. Looking at the toyota part (part number 16620-28090) which is the correct one, you can clearly see the difference you're pointing out in your reddit post. But the "nut" (over on the right side, past the idler pulley) that's to attach a socket and breaker bar to release the pressure on the tensioner so you can remove the drive belt. Is that the nut you're talking about?

The picture you showed, the new one, is correct even if it's aftermarket. The aftermarket used to get the copy of parts wrong but looks like they copied this one correctly.

Here's a picture of the correct Toyota part, mine on my 06 looks just like that.
