- Hello all, I recently bought a 2008 Scion tC with an aftermarket air intake and exhaust, and I am now receiving a check engine light. I've gotten two check engine lights within a week. The codes were p0101 & p0606. Then p0101 & b1660. Both times I received the codes, I was on the highway. My dad thinks that the p0101 is a result of air leaks in the aftermarket air intake, and suggested replacing it with a stock intake. I'd prefer to keep the aftermarket intake if possible. Any ideas or advice would be appreciated!
really a b1660? that's an airbag code for the driver's seat. That would be the 1st time ever a tC has had that, as far as I've heard. the p0101 is a MAF sensor code, and CAI (cold air intake) like you're saying you have can cause this. It's because the aftermarket sometime doesn't place the MAF in the correct air flow location.
problem with your codes is they're all unrelated, a p0606 means your main computer (ecu) is faulty. hmm...
have your battery load tested and see if it passes or fails. seriously. There have been times where unrelated codes show up on the tC and its because of a bad battery. Do that first then we can blame other stuff.
