It started back up, but idled pretty rough. The RPMs would drop lower and sputter, then go back up. I drove it back to my shop, and parked it. It starts up but will die after a few seconds of the RPMs fluctuating. I suspect something electrical, but I'm not sure. Any ideas? There's no codes being thrown at the moment, but the past month the lights popped up but gone away before I could get a chance to scan it. As a side note, I left my headlights on yesterday while I was getting a haircut for about an hour or so. It started up though and I drove it home, then later that day about 110 miles back to base with no problems. Occasionally it'll have a hard time starting though. What could be causing this?
this i've had happen before.. clean the throttle body and plate. Since it's an electric motor that moves that plate, the computer (ecu) gets confused when that plate gets gummed up/dirty. It cannot get the response it thinks should happen, so the engine ends up stalling. I would NOT force that plate open! All you do is have someone turn the key to the ON position, but do not start it. They push the gas pedal down, that plate will open so you can get to both sides. Do not spray Throttle body cleaner in there. That has acetone in it, we have a nylon/plastic intake manifold. You will melt it! But you can use that throttle body cleaner on some cleaning swabs to clean both sides of the plate. If you're worried about that.. CRC makes a MAF sensor cleaner which could be used on the throttle plate and its plastic safe.
Try that, and also remove the MAF sensor (on top of the air cleaner box) and clean that down.. let it dry, reinstall.. See if that fixes your issues..
About your battery, you drained down your battery, the alternator will not charge it fully. You need a stand alone battery charger to charge it back up. Try advance auto they have a decent charger if you don't have one, they usually do it for free.
