I was hoping you could help me choose the right catalytic converter (Front) for my Scion TC 2006. The shop wants to charge over $800 just for the part. I would like to purchase the part and lower my costs by only having them install it. I simply have no idea what to buy. I would like to buy through Amazon, but I have found a few other sites as well.

    What is the best brand?
    Magnaflow?
    Davico?
    Walker?
    Eastern?

My suggestion is Magnaflow. Stock CAT's are very restrictive, go with a high-flow CAT.
OP: You do know that the stock exhaust manifold has the primary CAT built into it, right? If you're replacing the "front CAT," you just buy a new exhaust manifold and you're done. No where NEAR 800$....around 350% on RockAuto:

We have a secondary CAT after the rear O2 sensor, so it's more of a resonator than a CAT (because nothing is monitored after it). Is the car stock? Are you trying to do something custom for some reason?
It is stock. I was just told I needed to replace my front cat. My check engine light won't go away and I hear a slight tick-tick-tick under the hood when I start the car in the morning esp if it is cold.

I prefer buying my own parts and having them put it in, that way I know what I am getting. I'm not trying to do anything modified for sound or anything. I just want to drive my car another 100,000 miles. I am at 140,000 right now.
Magnaflow has two Standard/HM Part#50110 and OEM Grade Part#49292

Does it matter which one I order?
I would go OEM Grade on the CAT of your not going for anything performance related.
Here... I will just quote what you need. Read it again, maybe it will set in. BUY A STOCK MANIFOLD FROM ROCKAUTO.

I saw your link. It did set in. However, from everything I have read and heard... MagnaFlow is better than Walker. I am not interested in getting the Walker.
