They stole my soul...

Back in March 2014, I came out one morning to find my passenger side door open on my 2014 TC. Upon further inspection, someone ripped out my info-tainment center and vandalized the interior of my car.

I have never had anything stolen from me. I work hard for my money, pay my own bills, and respect other people's property. It has been a devastating experience for me. I feel like my car is now tainted.

Needless to say, they never caught who did it. I have since moved and taken other precautions to avoid this kind of thing in the future. I had to laugh because the cop who was doing the police report asked me if I locked my car the night before. Brand new car in maybe not the best part of town... uh, yeah. I wasn't born yesterday.

I've heard there is apparently a device you can purchase online that will unlock any passenger side car door on any car. I don't know what it's called and haven't seen it myself. But I'm putting it out there to save people from the heartbreak that I endured.

Five months and $4500+ later, my car has been fixed. It appears to be fine. But it doesn't feel the same.

I want to warn other TCers that the security system isn't foolproof. I don't wish this upon anyone. Take care of yourself and your TC.
It never feels good to have something vandalized that is yours. Hell, I was upset about a $20 fire pit someone snagged out of my backyard!

As far as something that opens all passenger doors, I haven't heard of it and would bet it is just a myth. There isn't anything out there that the public has access to that will unlock cars with random access rolling codes....granted, Toyota doesn't use rolling codes yet, but for a statement to be out there that something can unlock all passenger doors on any car is false.

Sorry to hear about your troubles!
    Thank you for your response.

I found this article on what I was talking about. Maybe I didn't describe the device properly, but this is what I'm talking about.

That's what happened to my car. Alarm was set, doors locked, parked under a light, and it all didn't matter. They still got to her.
Very interesting. Never heard of that happening....
Our Keyfobs use Radio Frequency. Theoretically, someone could read that frequency and the ensuing code and mimic it. It is possible, although insanely time consuming, especially for someone who just wants to vandalize your interior.
Yeah I'm not exactly sure. Some things looked like they knew exactly what they were doing, and then other things caused me to wonder. I don't have enemies, so I know it wasn't targeted.
