ok so i think im set on getting a weapon r sri. but i have acouple questions...

    1) is it really worth getting the cold air box thing? does it really make a significant difference?

    2) will i need to get anything else or the sri?

    3) whats the difference between the wr intake and what i believe is called the wr dragon intake?
I cant seem to find much info about there dragon intake and was wandering if anybody knew about it.

    I think thats about it....thanks!!

i think the airbox would do something to help a little, but a friend told me they heard even from weapon*r themselves that the dragon is crap

    no.

    dragon is crap.

Could you expand on that a bit? What makes one crap and the other useful?

everything should come in the box ready to install. though of course, you'll need tools.
I got the Weapon R and I love it... I have had two other intakes and I like this one the best so far. I have had it about a year now no issues yet. Really the cold air box isnt worth it. The SRI tube goes down far enough to where you are getting fresh air.
thanks alot people! but what do you mean the sri tube goes down far enough to get fresh air??...btw, whats everybodies thoughts about this intake?
i have it for almost a year now. and no problems at all..
A yube attaches to the tip of the air filter and you run that down sort of by the fuse box area to the wheel well and that pulls in fresh air...You dont want to use this when it is wet out or you are driving through mud...

You will notice a little gain with the WR-SR especially when you start hitting 3,500 R’s… I do notice a difference over stock. Has a great sound with stock exhaust but if you upgrade your exhaust, you will no longer here the SRI. You will hear it in the exhaust tho, as the engine breathes better and the exhaust will get a bit more aggressive sounding at these ranges, so the SRI will affect the exhaust tone a wee bit.

Use the stock clamp when you attach to the throttle body, it works much better and is easier to put on than the standard type clamps that come with the unit. That’s the hardest part of the job, is getting it on the throttle body and getting that damn clamp on right, once you got that, the rest is a piece of cake.

I don’t use the cold air, in fender tubing… I left the stock tubing in, which sets next to the filter, you can see my review and pictures installed here http://clubsciontc.com/fo...cret-weapon-owners-27312/

As I stated in my review, I don’t like the standard clamps as they need to be torqued down periodically. T-clamps should remedy that issue but haven’t replaced mine yet.

Remember, use the stock clamp to attach the SRI to the TB, you’ll be better off and it’s easier to get on and doesn’t need to be retightened like the other clamps. Us a pair of vise grips to hold open the clamp until you get it into place and than remove the grips. It’s a little tough but once you get through this step, the rest is straight forward… After that enjoy your new sound modulation...

thanks alot for this review!! i'll be sure to update you guyz when i get everything situated!! i have some other things to take care of as of now...
    heyy one more question!!
so i hear that weapon r sri also loses power on the low end and causes bogging??

i thought sri was better for the low and mid end??

and would the cold air box help me with that?

I didn’t notice much of a difference in the low end much but when it starts to hit its power band over 3,500 R’s is where you’ll notice a slight boost. The boost is minor like any other bolt-on, it’s more for sound modulation more than anything… The nice thing about it, is that it allows your engine to breath better and not as restrictive as the stock air intake.

The Weapon has a unique double tube design in which is unique unto itself, rather than just a single tube that the other brands offer.

Just as a precaution make sure to hose out the inside of the Weapon to rid of any metal chips left over from production just to be safe before installation. I didn’t see any foreign debris but best to play safe… Make sure to let it dry thourly before you put it on.

    The SW looks good too…

the AEM V2 intake is a pretty similar design... but its not for tCs
so i was browsing some diff. sites for prices and came along this...

    http://www.weaponspeed.co...-305-156-401-p-74417.html

but i dont really see a difference...anybody know about it??
looks the same... but the price is just too much i got it for $200 free shipping... you shouldn't pay more than $200 for it.
    http://www.rsaperformance.com/wersctcseinf.html

Right there is the cheapest I found it. $200 for 05-06 and $210 for 07-08.
Free shipping and free cleaning kit.

I received that and the cold air tube as well at the link I posted. Overall not bad when you consider the free shipping...
