Are they worth getting? My ballast on my HID went bad on me and I'm considering now running HID's anymore. Do these put off a good amount of light?

I had Sylvania Silverstar, I'm not sure if they were zXe. They were like $30-$40 from Discount. Before that i had the Xenox from Discount.

I then got 6000k and 8000k HIDs from Meng. The HIDs DONT EVEN COME CLOSE to comparing to basic bulbs. I would never buy any of those halogens again. HID all the way.

They look nothing like HIDs. They are bright the first month you have them, after that they get dimmer. They don't last long at all. If I was you, I'd get the highest, regular silverstars.
I've decided to stick with HID's and just get new ballasts after reading such bad reviews on the zXe's

No halogen will put out the light volume of a comparable HID.
went from the factory bulbs to Sylvania silverstar zxe, haven't had any problems with em, but do plan to upgrade to hids...
for the price of silverstars, you can get a DDM tuning hid kit.
I have mengs in my headlights and DDM in my fogs they both work great.
Actually one of my meng ballasts just blew out last month, changed it to a DDM ballast
You're looking at Silverstars at 910 lumens vs HID 4300k at 3200 lumens.

Why you would want to downgrade is beyond me.
Before we upgraded her car, I used to drive my girlfriend's civic and wonder if the lights were even on. Compared to my HIDs they were a joke. Now we have 6ks in there and she admits, she can see a ton more.

Same with my wife's Fusion. Before, even with factory projectors, it was as if I had a candle in each headlight. Next to my tC, at the time, her lights might as well have been off. After getting 35w 6000K HIDs in her car, she was the first to say "Damn, those are bright! I love them." She's NOT a car person at all, so that's something to keep in mind too.
Im just going to replace my ballasts and get them from DDM Tuning.

Why not just buy a whole kit? Buying Ballasts or bulbs instead of a full kit is already about 70% of a kit price.
DDM Tuning has the slim kits on sale now for $30 so you might as well get those and have an extra set of bulbs handy. In my experience, bulbs go out quicker than ballasts so an extra set of bulbs is not a bad idea, especially if you want a different color that you can switch to every once in a while.
