I'm not sure where this goes. but it seems right...anyway...

Has anyone ever bought a remote start systemn for the tc. Mine is automatic so its easier. but a friend of mine bought everything seperate and it came out cheaper for his 350z. i was just wondering what was necessary for it and if had been done before on a tc.
i got it straight from the dealership when i got my car...its on auto...it comes out to about 150$ more than usual.
Mine is aftermarket. I have a 5 speed and mine was the 1st legal five speed remote start on the streets by Omega. It's a $500 alarm system though. Omega Excalibur and you won't go wrong!
^^^^ Transponder bypass is a bitch huh? I got a 5 spd remote start as well. Put it in myself. Never again... pain in the ass.
u dont need that worthless crap spend it on something better.
i didnt think you could have remote start on a manual. interesting. soon youll be able to drive it to you on your phone.
When i had my alarm put in, i was given the option of also getting the remote start feature, but after they told me it was an additional $130 for the module, i said the hell with it, i doubt i will barely use it, but don't get me wrong it's a good thing to have especially if you live in very cold or snowing states

Yeah it really sucks having to go out and start your car so it can warm up in the middle of winter in that cold cold California weather huh?

For someone who lives where there are real season changes and the average temperature in the winter is below freezing. A remote start isn't consider "worthless crap".

Now, to answer the question of the thread. I've had one installed and it just used daily. It was done at a shop and took 3 hours. The total cost was around $400 for the alarm and start. BTW its on a manual.
You can have it on a manual just make sure to have the emergency break on and keep it in neutral.

I love my remote start. There has been many days where we had 20 degrees here and my starter saved my life
i hate running outside in pajamas just to warm up my car.
And to top it all off when you do start it the doors are still locked unlike when u run out and have to leave the key in the ignition worrying if someone is gonna try to steal your car. for me, it was money well spent
I personally would never get one, but only cause its against the law in my state to have it on a manual and now its against the law to leave your car running if you are not in it.. But I would love to have it when its freezing out and my car was parked outside of its garage.. tho I do agree there are other mods I'd rather spend the money on then remote start

wow!!!! i've never heard of that before!!!
Yea but why would you want a remote start on a manual anyways..the way i see it is if you have the money do it..but on the other hand if you have money to be spending on just a remote start think of all the other things you could buy instead of jus getting the remote start..i like turning my car on anyways..

i understand that.. but if your honestly gonna spend 400 just to save time of sitting in the car while it heats up. then that is seriously "worthless crap".
More points at shows haha. I don't have remote start yet but the alarm I'm getting has it built in so why not use it. I mean I paid for it haha
exactly thats when its worth it.

pretty goofy if you ask me!! my ex had it on his BMW which was an manual but he had to have done in cali when he went to school, no shop here will do it.. as for the being illegal to leave car running you probably will start seeing it in more states- mainly cause thefts are increasing

I wouldnt say its W to the worthless, sure you could save the money for another mod. But if you were knocking over some local joint and need a quick get-a-way, you could benefit from it...or those cold winter mornings when you have to warm the car up before class. Worthless would be the whole cig lighter push start, that works once you put the key in and turn half way.

    Youtube it..

wow. thanks for all the backup on this guys. i always thought it was a nice convenient thing to have. its not a need, just like 100 extra horsepower. its a nice thing to have.

    Yeah,
Defineatly need the car to be warm.... and I think I bought mine from you for like 50 bucks which is a killer deal. Couldn't be happier with it. Thanks again bud!!!
I got my auto start when I installed my after-market alarm. All together it came out to $500.
