How does Staggered Rims on FWD cars change the handling if at all Obviously they will be somewhat heavier but is it a bad idea performance wise

Staggering the rims on a FWD will decrease the neutral feel of the car. The VW GTi have been ran with staggered setup for years without problems to the handling. Some swear it actually helps in some situations. But this all said the real idea is the looks and I love the look of a staggered rims. The FiveAxis Scion Tc has a sweet staggered setup I would love to have.My plan is to run 19x8 35mm offset in front with 215/35/19 and 19x9.5 35 or 40mm offset in the rear with 245/30/19, 255/30/19, or 265/30/19. The only problem I have researched on is that a 265 requires the fender lip to be rolled and I have never done that before.

Umm well I have 19X8.5 on my TC F&R and the rear already rubs with 235-s and I am running a 35mm offset.

Are you running 235/35/19 because the diameter of that tire is 25.48 inches tall about 1 inch taller than the original tire are you rubbing on top or side. Also have you lower the car and at what hieght.

I believe they might be rubbing on the top but I can-t tell because it is not leaving any marks.

I have some questions and some answers to your problems.1. The Goldline Springs drop the rear tire to low in the wheel well for that large of a tire. It will fit with Tien S springs with 2.4/2.0 f/r. Less of a drop in rear.2. Are you sure you have a real ADR M-Sports the ADR Design website states that rim is not made in a 5x100 pattern in 19x8.5 rim. If you do have the rim in 35mm offset did you use bolt pattern adapters to use the rim which increased you offset?3. The tire is to tall for you car you need a smaller diameter even the 265/30/19 is a 1/4 inch shorter than the 235/35/19 in diameterCheck out this article this guys scion is running staggered axis rims with 235/35/19. http://www.scionlife.com/features/2004012/

Just a noteI do not suggest the 265 it does require modification of the fender because of width but not height. I have found the 255 and 245 are very rare size and rather expensive in 250 range. I am just do research myself for my car but I want something different. I will keep posting as i collect more info for you guys wanting to think outside the box.
