Hey,I picked up my tC from service yesterday, they installed my spoiler and i asked them to fix the popping noise in my sunroof, i was told they had to order parts and would let me know when they came in. One problem, when i drove home, the pop noise was gone.. nothing , nanda, zip... i don-t know what if anything they did to my car, but it-s apparently stopped the noise.. Just thought i-d let everyone know.. If it comes back i--ll be on here letting you all know about it..lol

http://clubsciontc.com/ftopic-366-days0-orderasc-30.htmlYeah I posted mine last week, guess we should start this thread since the other is 4 pages. So ironic, like I said before....I reached right around 2000 miles and now I have 2200 and havent heard it but ONCE. Keep in mind that my tC is lowered and the pop increased dramatically and now stopped...I popped it to death(hooray) I will not be leaving my woman to be mobbed by service men oh, That one time was a ridiculous angle driving in to the post office lot.

I started to hear noises around 200 miles, but now I have a little over 1300 and the noise stopped. It just needed to be broken in a little bit I guess.

Last night I drove all night with the radio off and there was a little rattle when I went over bumps but it wasnt the pop that I was use to hearing, it was something new now I have to figure out what.

Same here, popping less frequent, rattle from rear sunroof area increasing 3300 mi. My dealer hadn-t heard of any fix for the sunroof yet, so I just had him note it, and will wait to see what the standard fix becomes.

Just speculating, but if the problem is loose bolts, maybe the popping happens when part of the roof slams back and forth within the range of its slack, and goes away when the bolt falls out.

go0d speculation, but i think it has more to do with the way the roof is held in place (not so much the glass hitting something loose, as the glas just flexing...Dunno, THinking scion needs to study more and send out the Recall soon.

This is a really old thread. i never remember any popping. my glove box rattled, but i stragegically placed masking tape and it went away. i was really proud of myself. my sunroof id the only thing that rattle now. its really loud when its tilted though.

i would bet that the pop noise will come back....

but if not, i also wouldn't be the least surprised if they did fix it without admitting to it/telling you about it.

i know for a fact that my dealership has done that with my car.

its like, if they don't fix it, then they don't have to admit anything is wrong with it..and they don't have to submit the repair claim, which makes the tc look better as far as consumer ratings and reliability.

i'm quite sure thats why they are ignoring the squeaky clutch issue. if they filed a tsb or recall, and the word got out that tc's had clutch issues (even if it was only for the 05s) it would hurt sales considerably...and u know what toyota/scion is most concerned about..... Selling the most cars.

i should win an award for that post.
