So the base is like 17.5, and im wondering if its worth getting the Exhaust and Rims through the dealer or not? Would it be better to get the stuff aftermarket or through the dealership.

stay away from the dealership, they will rape you and take you for all your worth, just use the dealship for warrenty work. Aftermarket companies like Greedy, AEM, Injin are in my opnion better quility and defnetly a lot cheaper. Performance wise they are far better also, hope this helps!

So itll be better to get the exhaust aftermarket, ill probaly buy the evo2 greddy exhaust.. What about those rims?

If you think -aftermarket- quality somehow superceeds OEM quality, you-re far from right, especially when it comes to TRD, and toyota parts. Greddy, AEM, Injen (im glad you at least spelled aem right...) May offer a higher performance level, and it may be cheaper, but those may not be CARB certified for those who live in california. In terms of the Rims, the 18- Enkei-s are a nice buy, in fact if you purchase them OUTSIDE the dealership, you-re bound to save only about 200$... but, if you do get them from the dealership, you should also ask for your stock rims, because you paid for those in the base model of the car...Dealerships, depending on who they are, can be your worst enemy, or your best friend. I had no problem getting my moon-roof fixed even when the warranty guy, and the tech saw my short shifter, my audio system, and my other numerous -touch-up- modifications. KNow why? Pick up last months issue of Sport Compact Car, and Import Tuner, and you-ll know why... or better yet, you can do a search on these forums for warranty work.Let-s also not forget that alot of TRD parts especially from the dealership are rebadged items... ie: their soon to come TRD intake is AEM w/ trd badging... TRD springs are built by eibach with toyota race specs.... etc. etc..And if you prefer to save those couple hundred dollars, you can always buy your parts used...from forums such as these (check the for sale ads) Or from 1st party Parts-only Dealerships online, such as Mcgeorge in virgina.

I just left scion, picked up the disk and book. Talked to salesman, and those rims are a must! I do have that issue about the warranty work. They had all the parts on display like the sway bar, cathodes, door sill-s, exhaust, shift knobs, pedals, carbon fiber bezel-s.Im now breaking down the payments to see what the total insurance and car note together will be. Ill be trading in my v6 stang. I really cant wait to get rid of the stang, tC cant be any slower!

no this is why your name says newbie, no dealership parts, they are way too expensive, i just put on 19-s with good tires for $1360, everything at scion is so expensive, just either do it yourself or buy aftermarket... hopefully you didnt buy it yet with parts that are worth a quarter of what you pay....

guitarguru... i know people with 1 post, and have tons of more knowledge than yourself... please do not discriminate because of Posts... i gurantee there are things that you may even know that i don-t, and i have 5 times the posts you do... and vice versa. Dealerships, while expensive, have the key to alot of things... this word called WARRANTY... and again, not all dealerships are expensive. McGeorge in Virginia is a dealership for Toyota and Mercedes, and sells parts at wholesale. From Sways to Rims, to Exhaust, to Lights, to Exhaust to EVERYTHING, this dealership is almost as cheap as E-BAY.... And the best part is, most dealerships here, when you bring the part in, will install it no questions asked if you tell them you got it from another Toyota Dealership (which is not a lie) and will do it for an average price, that any other garage may do it for.ie: I just bough TRD Springs from Mcgeorge for 149$... and Toyota is installing them and doing the alignment for 200$.... Thats an incredible price....considering most places will INSTALL ONLY for $100, and alignments on average are about 60$.... thats $40 more... but you get to deal with someone who KNOWS the car in and out, and if they dont- know, has to gurantee its work no matter what....The Dealership is a wonderful place....full of lies, deceit, and high prices.... but its also a place where deals are meant to be had.
