Has anyone changed their gear oil yet? I'm upgrading my fluids to Royal Purple and was wondering if anyone had any pics or know how about doing it. I've done fluid changes in plenty of other cars, but all rear wheel drive. Dif's are easy to get to on them.

    Thanks for the help.

Do you have to bleed the slave cylinder or anything or is it just a drain, fill, and drive?

How many quarts does it take also?

Thanks, I'm going to go try to find the Redline MT90 or Royal Purple MaxGear (both GL-4) somewhere. Any suggestions where i could look other than online?

yes i have at least heard of redline too.

and thanks for the correction in grammer and proper use of brand names, im sure that nobody would be able to come to a conclusion, that when he said AMS oil which is probably AMSOIL.. but i guess thats whats you are here for! correcting people's misspelled words! thanks again

Ok, without getting too hostile......Yes it was kind of a shock that you work at an auto parts store and have never heard of Royal Purple, but it's all good. I worked at Autozone and was a manager there for 3 years so I definately heard of a lot of liquids. And to be fair, I never heard of Amsoil until last year. A customer asked for it and I had a blank stare.....hahahahahahahaha

yea bro nothing personal ! just never seen that company or brand name untill today, haha i went to murrays and seen it on the shelf so its all good ... but i wont change to a diff brand i mean AMSoil guarentees their oil for 25,000 miles which i don personally trust, but is does say it on the back of the bottle ..

Yeah, same thing with the new Mobil 1, but honestly, no matter what oil i put in the engine, it's changing out at 3k and trany is changing out after 25k.............that's just me though

Damn, I ordered 3 quarts of MT90 and they sent 2. On the invoice it says 3 and still they sent 2. I emailed the company and left a voicemail too. They better get back to me. They are in B-more so I can go straight to the store and give them "a piece of my mind" if need be.

Replaced the fluid and it's not a huge difference from the factory stuff. Every once in a while you can feel the shifter slide into place but for the most part, it's about the same. I guess if the synthetic mix helps the synchros, then it's worth it in the end anyways. Gonna see how it is with the short shifter tomorrow!!!
