if i start my car from a cold start (when its been off for a LONG time) it starts fine, but ive noticed if i start it soon after ive used it (like going shopping for 20 mins then starting it back up) it takes a bit longer to crank, and the rpms drop really quick and it almost stalls for a second but then its fine...is that a sparkplug problem? im running 1 step colder plugs could that be the problem (have nitrous)

old battery? my brother had that problem but his car was a '90 corolla POS. if not the battery maybe the alternator, i guess it could also be the plugs, did it do that after you put em in?

well ive had the plugs in for a few weeks and this problem only started a few days ago...i left my arming switch on once, and it sprayed when the car was idling for a second or so, didnt notice any damage, but could that affect the plugs? could the alternator make it almost stall like that? its like its not getting enough fuel/air or something..

yeh im running a 50 wet shot, so i had to change to 1 step colder spark plugs

it could, even though ive only seen it in older cars (so far), one xB couldnt keep his power on but he had massive TV and audio mods. as far as nitrous ruining anything i have no idea. maybe ask a honda guy, they always have car start problems haha

It sounds so normal, but to get it to Crank takes how long? is it bad or it still turns on just not as fast...i dont think the nitrous would bring that kinda problem

takes atleast another 2 seconds to start....thats not concerning me 2 much, but the part of where i start the car and it almost dies is whats concerning me lol

didnt see that part, you might be fine, if this was something where u have to fight the engine to start or it wasnt running normal then id be worried

it happens to me too, ill start it warm and the rpms get down to almost 500 and kinda sounds low but then it gets back to 800-1000 right?

yeh pretty much, sounds like its about to stall....is that normal??? lol ive NEVER had this issue b4...

for me thats normal when the engines warm. it does usually take a few seconds to roll over its been like that since ive had this car (jan 09) so i just thought it was normal, ive had no major issues
    • Jul 27, 2009 6:23:52 pm
oo ok...this is the first ive had this issue and never knew any1 else had it lol...

    any other opinions?

you could check the starter, maybe its getting old... but then again you would have the problem when its cold too.. hm maybe unless its just starting to get old... but that doesnt explain the rpm drop.. did anything happen just before you this started? like how long before it happened did u spray?

My car has done the same exact thing about 3 times since I bought it last Sept. I'll go to the store or something and then when I come out and turn my key, the car cranks for about 5-7 seconds before starting.

I never thought anything of it... I just figured it was just an air bubble in the fuel line of something of that nature.
