Just curious what you guys thought about these cars...the -best bang for the buck- would have to be the srt-4...thats the car i was gonna get if i didnt get the tc...but its a neon...just seemed wrong to buy lol....but the STi is def. the hottest car around today...its sick what they do with 4 cylinders and some forced induction.

All great cars...all really expensive...In retrospect, if im going to shell out more than $30k for a car (EVO and WRX STI) I expect at minimum Leather interioir with a decent sound system... i expect a luxurious ride and such for that amount of money. While power is a big issue (and those cars have them for damn sure..) i-d prefer ride over power when it comes for -bang- for the buck. I prefer Luxury -bang- over it (go figure....and im a gear head..) While 30k for an EVo and WRX STI seems logical...think of the other cars for 30k with alot more CLASS and REPUTATION...the is300...the 350z... and even the TL or TSX (around there, not sure of MSRP nowadays...) Even the srt4 has been raised in price. The car was marketed as -Best car under 20k- by car and driver, road and track, and mototrend... But since it did so well, they increased MSRP to over 20. Great... makes you think what the tC will do...Anyway yes, they are all great cars, just IMO i-d prefer luxury of performance if im going to shell out that much money (but if i could get both for the price i-d be euphoric......can u say i wish there was a $25k 2005 m3? hahahah...)

They were never higher than 22,000 to be begin with. The new ones are $20,995. The SRT-4-s the best out of those 3 for the money, but definately I would go with the EVO!

Not with the $2500-3000 dealer mark-up.Dealers are adjusting market value

Out of those 3 I would get the EVO(the RS)...I like the sleeper look http://www.automobilemag.com/news/03sema_evors/

Thought I-d add, the SRT4 price wasn-t raised to increase profit margins, it was raised because after the first year they added a Limited Slip and better tires. The increase is a result of those items

stis and evos are in those 26-30K range. but they are quite fast and quite nimble on the turns. the srt-4 is a 2.4L turbocharged wonder at 20K....wait, isn-t a tc 2.4L with low compresson?......can you say boost?that is what makes the tc so attractive. low cost. lots of goodies. plus the potential to boost (with it-s low compression rate i think it can go 10psi without any problems) is there. i rumors are the s/c is going to be about 3K...now with the 16.5K the tc is priced at it will be compareable to the srt-4 in regards to a boosted 2.4L car....the srt-4 may still have an edge going 230whp stock...but the tc offers much more. plus toyo reliability.

Cannot agree more ... I-d also add that the tC is about 10x more stylish and attractive than the SRT4. As for reliability, I-m just waiting for Dodge-s infamous Head gasket issues that have followed every four cyl they-ve put out in the last two decades to pop up in the SRT4 as well. The most notable of which is the 60k 95-99 Neon HG failure.

best out the door performance bang for buck = SRT-4don-t know how long the car will lasti-d take the evo over the sti because...i just like the looks better, and they-re pretty much close in performancebut if i had that much money i-d just get a car that has a balance of performance and luxury. g35, 350z, s2000, is300, etc

As the owner of an STi, it-s just simply amazing. Ridiculous performance, cheap to modify. A blast to drive.

One thing you-re forgetting, the engines internals. While the SRT-4 engine has been known to handle 400HP+ on the stock block, the tC engine has yet to prove how much it can handle. And IMO, with the -F- head and an aluminum block, I doubt it-s anywhere near the SRT-4 engine.

the tc will never match up to the srt-4 in performance numbers. it wasnt designed for that. the srt-4 is a solid performer.... there are many people with over 50k miles on them and zero problems.... people that say that are gonna fail, are just hoping it does so that they can talk shit about it... it is a solid built car, read into it before you talk out your ass about it. i would take the evo out of those three though.... at first i thought the sti was better, but after some time on the market and tuning scene, the evo responds better to mods....

srt-4 came out just two years ago, and there are srt-4-s witih 50k miles on them? wtf? 25k miles in 2 years? yeaa... sounds to me like someone needs to be driving less...

driving is addictive when you have a fast car. hell its addictive even if you dont. if you go on srtforums, there are at least 5-10 of them that stated over 50k, some just over 60, and alot that were right on there tails.

having driven all three cars. i prefer the sti over all. for the money the srt4 hands down but between the evo 8 and the sti i would choose the sti. i did not like how the evos interior reminded me im driving a lancer.....they look like space ships in the interior. the sti interior was much more nicer and more realistic imo. it was eiether between a tC or an sti and i choose a tC due to the fact that i believe it will be one of the most strongest cars in the sport compact world once the aftermarket gets going.
