A 1998 Mustang thats a AUTO with CAI vs a tC auto stock......who bad does the tC lose? What does the tC need to win?

v6 or v8? tC might win already. mustang v6-s are just pathetic. especially the 2004 and previous.

The only way you would have a chance is if it is a v6. Or a gt and convertable (fat pigs!!! well over 4,000#-s). -96--98 GT-s are the pigs of the mustang era. That-s when they switched over from the 5.0 to the OHC 4.6L. The head design was horrible and they -only- put out 215hp. Many auto gt-s of those years are well into the low 15-s completely stock and may be able to hit 14-s with good launch (my buddy has a -95 GT convertable 5spd that ran a 15.1 stock his first time with it at the track. 5.0L made like 220hp in that year). 5spds are 14 second cars. Now watch out for ANY mustang -99-up as both the 4.6L and the 3.8L got a nice power boost. I-ve seen 5 spd v6 mustangs of those years hit 15 flat with nothing but a short shifter and CAI....think he had pullies too, but those are minimum mods. I-d say to even come close to a 15.0 you-d need COMPLETE exhaust system....header back, CAI, some sort of computer tuning, and practice launching!!! I still think that won-t be enough and you-d have to go to major power adders. I-ve been doing this type of stuff since I turned 16 and had my hopes crushe a few times not realizing how hard it is to drop tenths of a second of your times. Those three things I just said may give you .4 of a second.....mostly from the computer tuning.

Well a 98 auto is like the worst of stangs, I own one now. I ran a 16.3 with CAI

If the mustang pulls a 16.3s 1/4 mile then your auto tC will basically keep up. It-s all going to depend on the launch.

how about with the money you save with a tc, even buying a used 2005 at this point buy a satge one turbo, rims, and a body kit... It-ll push 240-250 horses and look sicker, plus the tc is very versatile, i can fit everything in there and everyone who rides or sees it loves it as it is, go two thousand more and your tc will push 320 with a stage two, and for those of you who don-t understand that it means you-ll be able to kill evos and stis, so a used tc will cost $15,000 + $4000 (turbo) + $1500 (rims and tires) + $1000 for total of $21,500 which is all installed prices for a car that will look sweeter and faster than anything under $60,000... i just dont see the extra money of the s being worth more than adding 80 horses for $2000 or 160 horses for $4000, but everyone has there opinions, and no i would not make a different decsion if the choice came up again...

yeah, but put the same amount of money into an evo or sti, then well see how mighty you think the tC-s are. if somebody is buying a $30,000 car, they obviously might have enough left over to modify, as to where somebody buying a $16,000 car is more than likely not having too much money left over, unless of course its a project car.

Haha yeah no kidding. He was doing ok until his part about the -faster than anything under $60,000.- Please dude. Besides, Evos and STis are about more than drag racing. I-d love to see you try to keep up with a stock Evo with your -320 hp- tC on a canyon road. (Which is where real driving occurs... no offense but drag racing is kind of a joke.)
