Link on Bottom.

It claims that the tC is boosting at 11psi (ZPI Kit) and the STi is boosting at 20psi with a Cobb Stage 2. I don't know it this is a turbo kit but if my memory is correct, the stock STi uses 20lbs of boost. Correct me if i'm wrong.

-Edit-

I got it!

The Cobb Stage 2 kit is for the WRX not STi. It brings up the WRX to 230whp while the ZPI kit for the tC makes around 300whp at 10psi. Another guess is that it IS a stock STi and all that was done to it is the 3" piping. And stock boost for the STi is @ 14.5psi. Some info seems weird but that's all the info I care to dig up. Hope its not a repost.

could be the extra fat camera man on the passenger side made it lose?
• Mar 29, 2006 11:25:25 am
wow... nice kill for sure. That goes out to everyone who says the tC cant be made fast... New stock STI's can run in the high 12's...
• Mar 31, 2006 4:47:18 am
yeah, i've seen that video. the tc pulled him HARD! not soft at all! haha.

that STI driver sucks However the STI stock dynos at 240-250 hp tq at 14lb boost with a 3'tbe they go for 260-270ish at the wheels. Now if the TC turbokit is rated at 300 hp at the crank then the TC is prob dynoing at 270ish as well. If thats the case is a driver's race. Kool vid.
• Apr 14, 2006 8:15:01 pm
i dont know. i dont think it was a drivers race. he pulled him super hard. i think if it was a drivers race it would have been a lot closer. i could be wrong but thats what i think.

driving AWD is diffrent then FWD the FWD at a roll has more advanteges on taking of faster. On a AWD you have to be precise and know when to exactly shift or your turbo will not responde as well. So the TC driver was more skillful then the STI. AWD from a start line + good driver= a sure kill. I must admit am impressed with the TC' potential.

...get some more videos up so that evoman starts to seriously consider modding it and selling his evo...

Im gonna keep trying to subliminally slip it into your brain..lol.

But seriously a lot of people dont give it credit saying the tC cant handle any power. But they have kits out that are made to last on the stock engine. By building up the engine a little and replacing some of the stock parts with performance ones you should be safe in preventing any huge damages. I still plan on only going with a stage one but pushing 350 horses safely is possible if you fully upgrade like the whole car... Probably not worth it, but it is possible...

im sure the sti would launch on him but that doesn't mean he'd kill him. also, the guy lost period. if you buy a 250 + horsepower car, you should know how to drive it.
• Apr 15, 2006 11:39:33 am
Damn, i was just reading some of the comments on that vid. SCION HATERS!!! WTF, people are so ignorant. Cant even give a truly awesome car some credit. Stupid tools saying,
Quote:
"TC's are crap, they brake for crap, turn for crap, and the engines suck. They are wh at they are; a crappy car for kids to rice out. and no, I am not a Toyota hater, I am a Supra owner."

Supras are way heavyer than tCs, how do you figure our cars break and turn for crap?

someone correct be if i'm wrong but that STI belongs to the guy from ZPI. I think he ran his car against a ZPI turboed tC.
• Apr 19, 2006 9:12:20 pm
I dont know about saling my evo..but considering modding the TC now!..lol too bad i bought an automatic. However thats the reason i bought an automatic to stop me from modding!

Controlo: You would be supprised how many AWD drivers dont know how to drive AWD.. I was one of them. Coming from a 2000 civic SI to an EVO was a big change.

Also the ZPIracing turbo kit includes this:

300whp 9-10 psi (150% increase)
EVO III GT Big 16g
Tial Wastegate
Tial BOV
Stainless Intercooler piping
Precision Turbo intercooler with cast end tanks
Pre tapped oil pan
Pre tuned Emanage
550cc RC injectors
Stainless Manifold
4 ply couplers
MSRP: 4990.00

The STI Cobb stag 2 includes:

custome tune to 20 PSI tapering at 17-18PSI
3"downpipe
3"dump exhaust

prob about $1k or less for the parts.

COBB Stage 2 doesn't do much as far as peak performance. It makes the car feel much more responsive and fun to drive on a daily basis. This is by what a lot of STI owners have said on ClubWRX.com about the cobb sgt2 Also. notice the windows where down on the STI witch will hurt the acceleration on high speeds. Now if you put down 4k + on the STI then it will be a hole diffrent story. However the potential on the TC is amazing.

Did any of you read the comments posted on the video? So many TC haters out there... I actually wonder how many of them have raced a TC or a Turbo TC at that... Bet if they did that they would shut up! I agree was a good race and if they would actually pay attention that loud car is the STI not the TC, but apparently ppl just believe what they want.
• Jul 07, 2006 5:22:31 am
Its a very good video but I would like to see the exact mods of the STi.
• Aug 30, 2006 3:56:05 am

that turbo kit for the tc gives it 300 WHP, not to the flywheel, probably slipped by you and so if you look at the weight of the wrx and the tc its not really a drivers race if one has less weight and 50 more hp at the wheels.

Could you post the site and dyno where it says that the kit gives the tC 300 Whp? All the kits I've seen are rated at 300 hp, not whp. Do you have a link?
This is all I've found.

EDIT:
Nevermind, I found it. It's the ZPI stage 1 kit (9-10) psi.

DAMN..... 350+ WHP http://www.zeropointindus...28_40&products_id=255

man, i have enough trouble starting in 1st with 140 whp.... i still don't know why people boost FWD street cars to 300hp. Its not usable power.
• Sep 04, 2006 3:13:16 pm
this specific one was done by zpi, the reason they did this is to promote thier products to get other people to buy them because your car will be an sti killer if you buy this turbo kit. LOL
