See, it's "races" like this that are embarassing. They give other tC owners a bad rep as "ricers" b/c they actually think they can win.

Word of advice: Pick your battles wisely.

    tC vs. Camaro why?

Ouch and in traffic. Thats what I call a kill!!

Yeah, but why would this guy be dumb enough to do that. It actually sounds like he's frustrated b/c he thought he could take it just with a K&N drop in filter and axle back! hahaha.....just pathetic

Its funny to think that he even has a chance at beating that Camaro. He should try and race some of the older model civics.

autos are not really that hard to race you just got to start in low gear and shift your self and least thats what we did in my buddys auto..

    • Nov 06, 2006 10:05:12 pm
That's pretty sad. The ricer fly by was even more sad.

dont do it, its made to shift on its own, you ruin the solenoids in the tranny, please dont do it

The ability to shift in an auto was solely designed for areas of loose traction (snow, mud, sand). You put the transmission in a higher gear so that you don't get wheel spin and sink. That's the only reason for you to use those gears like that. Racing can damage, not only solenoids, but bands in the trany. Each gear has a band, kind of like a stiff rubber band, that engages "smoothly" when it shifts normally. If you shift manually in an auto, the trany will jump into the next gear and this causes the band to stretch and down the road, you will have gear slip. Not worth the measly little win now when you have to rebuild the trany later. Autos are scary when you take them apart.
