I honestly don't know how I ever lived without these. Blindspots? What blindspots?

I realize I should have taken a better pic, but I've gotten so used to them I can't remember how I lived without them-- I had to drive my wife's car a few times this week, and it was just terrible. The mirrors... they see nothing!!

Oh, and if you're at all interested, they're available on group buy over at ScionLife right now.

What is so special about these mirrors? Looks like a regular mirror to me, or am I missing something here.

I really need to get some other pics. They're convex on both sides-- so the driver's mirror is wide angle as well. They also have a blue tint to them, so headlights at night don't blind the crap out of you. I love mine to death.

Ill look around and see if I can find some pictures of these on the net, but this has me crazy curious as to how they work ya know.

well the passenger side mirror has a slight convex curve to it stock.. so just imagine it being on the driver side as well.. plus the bluish tint.

    and that's what you get.

Gotcha, I cant see it from any of the pictures I have looked at so far haha. I saw the SL thread and still couldnt tell what was so good about it beside the tint. I will take your word though that these mirrors rock ;D

I can also vouch for these mirrors. They are awesome! Keep in mind though that the group buy is closed. There are no more available unless you can find someone who is selling them

    edit: Pics of mine

hmm.. i think it would be best to take a pic from the driver's seat... let people know how much improved the view is..

Those pics show it a lot better. Thanks for the clarity

this is seriously tempting to get in on

i love mine.. i just need the rear view also... then id be set!
    • Aug 02, 2008 2:34:15 pm
Eh, the blue lens is nice for glare but it doesn't seem like much more view than mine already. I have mine set to show no sides of my car and give me full view of the next lane on either side and I use my center rear view for close views of my car sides. I have no blind spot b/c as a car comes up behind me I can see it in my rear view but the closer it gets I begin to see it's headlights in my side view. As the headlights are in view, the car is still visible in both mirrors.

Seems a bit much for stick on mirrors.

There's no comparison between angling the stock mirrors and these. I also have a 275mm Broadway for the rearview, and I can see the entire panorama behind the car. I never have to look over my shoulder to lane change, ever.

Don't knock it till you've tried it.

65$ is still a bit much for just a stick on mirror that fits over your stock mirrors though. If they actually replaced the mirror glass itself for that price, then that may be different. I do like the antiglare coating on them though.

    Placed my order!

there's a diy on sl.. saying on how to directly replace it with your stock mirror if ya want?

yea.. i just yanked out my old mirror glass and put the new ones in. it's a very slightly looser fit, thus why it's recommended to glue the new mirrors into the stock plastic.

it's alot because it's not cheap plastic but a high quality piece of glass... with it being convex, you have to have the uhm... curve perfect, otherwise even small distortion of the optics will be just horrible looking.

blah blah... i'm getting too technical with it, but really, it's not much money the seller is making from this at all... (i know what his at cost price is, and it's quite a bit and not much less than his group buy selling price)

(i don't think he's actually gonna make any money at all.... just probably more to get the product out there sorta thing.. so buy now before group buy is closed and prices go up??)

but yea... before, i had my side mirrors set outwards to where i didn't have blindspots too (including the 360mm convex broadway i have.. lol)... but since i changed out the side mirrors..

yea, very much a big difference!
