check engine light

  i bought a 2007 scion tc it has headers and a cold air intake i cant get the check engine light to stay off i was told it was the cold air intake and mositure it runs great and the mileage is good got any ideas

  take it to autozone or discount auto and have them put a code reader on it to find out what it is. check engine could be many things

  If your TC has an aftermarket header in it, your CEL will stay on because you technically removed the Catalytic Converter from the exhaust system. If that is the case, that's why your CEL is on. If not, run to Autozone, have them scan it and look up the CEL code. Could be anything.

  Yeah the header sounds like CEL for cat.
  
  Get codes read, and get an anti fouler if you don't already have one.

  definitely the header is causing the CEL.
