front liscense plate law?

is it illegal to take of the front plates in washington?
i see whole bunch of my friends w/o front plates,
but i thought it was illegal in washington.
and i don't wanna get a ticket for small things like that.

anybody?

if the state issues u two liscense plates then there is suppose to be one in the front and the rear....do ur friends put their plates in the windshield instead?

many people do that but they can still give u a ticket if they want...thats how it is here in ny...so im assuming that it would be the same there considering they give u a front and rear liscense plate

They may give us 2 license plates but when we renew our registration they only give us one sticker for the rear plate. So I'm guessing that the rear plate is the only one that HAS to be on the car

see its different here...we dont get stickers for our plates..its just the plates...and they could care less if its in the windshield cause its suppose to be mounted....sucks cause i had to watch them drill into my front bumper before it came off the lot...definitly hurt

You could have stopped them and told them that you have a license plate re-locator. I would've told them that but when I got my tC, the holes were already drilled

All the cars that I own only have the back license plate; the tC is the only car that I have gotten pulled over for tint and not having a front license plat but the cop just warned me.

2008 G37 OB Sport 6MT...

YOU HAVE TO MOUNT IT on front and the back.
like everybody said thats why they issued you TWO PLATES.
something is always there for something.
i was lucky that before the dealer put them on my front fender, i talked to the manager and he finally let me go without the front plate mounted on...but then he said its my own responsibility if i get caught or ticketed by the popo....also if your still in highschool, its higher chance for you to get caught since every highschool has their own "school po-po". they always bothered my friend for not showing it on the front bumper.

yea id rather not deal wit the hassle..thats y i got custom plates so atleast the front doesnt just have a bunch of random numbers and letters....actually like hwo it looks

yea..its not all...i believe for PA they only give u one plate...my boy has a g35...he bought it in ny..and was pisssssssseddd when they drilled the holes in the front in anticipation for the plate...cause he is registered in PA and only has a rear plate......hes stupid tho..i woulda made them give me a new front bumper....

o in va they give you two plates but you dont have to put it on the front bumper. it just needs to be seen from the front

oh there is another thing about the plates.
if your driving upper-level or luxury car, and you dont have your front plate on; po-po wont even look at you or bother to pull you over. YES THATS NOT FAIR but thats how it roll. Most of G35 dont have their front license plate on, and so does BMW.
BOY if you wanna get passed by po-po, first BE RICH LOL

ive come to learn that theres no exceptions to gettin pulled over...the only thing that makes a difference is how the cop is feeling that day....ive seen a few feraris and bentleys pulled over......and ive passed cops doing like 95 and they didnt budge...its all depending the day and time....i just try to not cause toooooooo much attention to myself

well, from where i live i've never seen a person with luxury car got pulled over, maybe it depends on the ppl whos driving it. i hate those dumb looking fuckas driving their ricer shitty and think they owning the street but next second get pulled over LOL.

When I was in Cali, I got a ticket for not having a front plate it was about $85 but, my BF knew a Sheriff @ his work. I told him that I didn't want to drill holes in my bumper, he laughed and wrote off my ticket

the tc's come factory drilled for the front plate right?..

i wish they didnt.. i know like mercedes and german cars dont because a lot of my friends and family asked for them not to be drilled and here in jersey its illegal so you would actually have to sign a release form of some sort saying that all legal issues are held liable to you.

Washington state law is yes, you need a front plate. Just like you need both tag lights operational, use your turn signals for every lane change. Most won't bother with you, but it can be used on a pretextual stop (for instance, I see a car which has some shady looking folks in it and I have no reason to stop them other than no front plate).
