there is no street legal header for the tC. they all remove the cat. just get a few cats welded into ur midpipe with an aftermarket header

why worry about an illegal header? Just swap it out with the stock one before emissions testing.

headers
  • Window Washer
Actually they ARE called HEADERS with an S.If you had a single cylinder motor then you would say header .But on a 4 cyl.you would say a set of headers (more than one tube ).

That wouldn't make sense, haha. One tube is a header? So I have 4 headers on my car?

I dont think its the number of "tubes" that determine whether its singular or plural. I think we have 1 header because the piping from the engine connects in to 1 pipe before any other part of the exhaust.

no no no Mayo, if the person has a screen name called Headers that means they know everything about "Headers"

just like if someone creates a screen name called BeefSausage they know everything about Beef Sausage

It's a header

Yet another drive by post that shows their ignorance on the issue.

I own a header company and have been building headers for more than 35 years. But i guess that doesn't matter in this forum.
I will give you a hint though who i am.I made the turbo manifold on Chris Rado's XB.

^ Webs gonna eat you if you dont change that to "a header" haha.

Im not an expert, but I read its because of the vibrations of the exhaust exiting the engine. Someone lemme know if Im wrong though.

I agree that it doesn't matter who you are, this is a public forum on the Internet and people pretend to be experts and CEO of important companies that do blah blah blah for you know who because I have connections with blah blah blah and who gives a flucke.

Forgive me, I know I'm being rude. If you are truly an expert then we look forward to your expertise on this forum to help others, but if your only intent is to show off what you think you know, get lost.

Someone needs an ego boost I guess. Oh well...take the information if you'd like, I only tell it to everyone from personal research/knowledge.

If there's one exhaust side to the block, it's got 1 header. If there are 2 or more exhaust sides to the block (a W16 engine has 2 headers per side b/c of it's quad turbo setup), then the vehicle will require headers. A flat 6 engine (Jeep YJ straight 6 4.2 liter) usually has 1 header with 6 runners....the tubes are not called headers...they are called runners.

And please, don't flex your internet muscles attempting to show how much you know by boasting about what you "supposedly" do for a living. It really shows you have no credability in the fact that you must rely on your work to show us who you are.
