SqMK Reg'd: Dec 31, 1969 Ultimate Window Washer	Hey guys, This is something that scionadmin had in mind a while ago, but what are your thoughts in team based profiles? What is or would be a team? Basically an exclusive team, group, or club consisting of one or more members registered on this site. Members of the team/club go out to shows together, race, or whatever with other members/club of the team. How would teams be handled? One person would create the team on the site, giving it an alias (appropriate to the real life team / club name), descriptions, and assign members to the team/club. This one person would essentially be the founder of the team, and can appoint other 'founders' to the team for complete management. Other members can be appointed with different roles, management wise. The team profile would act similar to that of a user's profile, where members of the team can upload photos, post news / scheduled meets, etc, and use that page as advertisement when going to trade shows and such. Non-members can contact the team as a whole for information, or request to be added so they can partake in the team's functions. A team would have it's own mini forum so they can post private messages for the entire team to view. Anyone could rate the team or comment on the team as they can with normal rides / profiles. On the members profile, if they belong to any teams, those teams would be listed for all to see. Links to teams? In order to make advertising your club/team outside of the site a bit nicer, I'd like to modify some of the ways we handle urls here. Right now I have implemented a test of subdomains for users. For example: http://sqmk.clubsciontc.com/. This structure may change to something like: http://member.sqmk.clubsciontc.com/ Team (or club) url structures may be similar: http://club.your-teams-name.clubsciontc.com/ or http://team.your-teams-name.clubsciontc.com Yeah yeah, we sacrifice some of the novelty of the subdomains be adding 'member' to user subdomains, but considering it's a test right now, I don't think any of you are too attached to the current functionality. 2006TcScion Reg'd: Mar 09, 2006 Scion Guru	So is this like for car clubs type thing? if so i think it would be a nice little touch. the only thing that would need to be worked on is getting rid of the outdated clubs if they are no longer a club. I seen this type of thing on the other car fourm i go to and it gose really well but every 6th link is dead. A sub domain where pics can be posted pertaining to the specific team would be cool. April 6th, Capital Raceway in crofton is where a few of us are going to be going. Searching for the most active teams with decent / high ratings would be simple. I don't envision teams expiring. My idea is that any user can submit team information that will be queued for approval. One user can own multiple clubs, but each of those clubs will be approved by myself and some other folks. The reasoning behind the approval process is so that a user doesn't go crazy with creating a bunch of clubs for the sake of creating a bunch of clubs. When a club is approved, they get a subdomain of their choice if available (like, scinergy.team.clubsciontc.com), possibly a showcase of all users and their cars associated with that club, group picture gallery, miniforums, and calendar setup specific for that club. A section on your profile will also list the clubs you are in so other users know who you are with. Note: the ideas above are not finalized, but this is what I am envisioning when I roll this thing out. Do your part: Donate to Club Scion tC!
