I'm going to once my weapon r cleaning kit runs out, the tube tip is 2.5 or 2.25(not sure) but the secret W filter is 3" so you could do either get the K&N the size of the pipe(use tape measure on pipe) or get a 3" K&N and use a 3 to 2.5-25 reducing coupling. I think its 2.5 thought. wow that was more intense than that one time I forgot how to sit down... |

Mugetsu: Before you get that K&N, check 1 or 2 of your spark plugs. Get a baseline color comparison. Should be a tanish color. After you install the K&N, run it about 1000 miles and then check them again. If you see them turning lighter or more of a white color, you're buring too lean. I suspect that if the design of the Weapon R intake works (the inner tube creates a strong vacuum to help the larger surrouding tube suck in more air, it'll cause the car to lean out, since the K&N filters keep a higher atmospheric pressure than the foam ones. Now, I know our car runs leans to start with BUT, running too lean will burn up the cylinders/plugs/piston heads and could cause detonation inside the combustion chamber. Let us know. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. http://clubsciontc.com/fo...-rims--5x100-pattern.html |

well it'll be a while before i switch to the K&N the WR kit is good for about 5 lubes i'm at 2 and the bottle is 75% full, and since i'm not running the CAI attached to the filter anymore i shouldn't have to clean it for 4 to 5K in between. even so you really think the K&N would run the car leaner than the WR? well by the time i'm running the K&N i should also be running my N2O kit so i WILL be checking my NEW plugs often, even thinking about switching to the NOLOGY? hot wire kit just so i can check the plugs quicker and easier without having to unbolt the packs. well melting the plugs would suck and any damage to the cylinder or cylinder heads would equally suck but i think detonation is only possible on our car in a severe situation(as in trying to blow a 100 shot of dry N2O into the car lol) from what i hear our ECU will pull and adjust timing very quickly when it detects knock. some say it'll do it "before" it gets to that point. wow that was more intense than that one time I forgot how to sit down... |

Just don't think that the Nology kit will do ANYTHING performance wise for you. It's a gimic b/c the best type of spark delivery is DIS (coil on the plug). If you're getting it just for ease of maintenance, then that's understandable. About detonation though........it is still possible b/c you'll be pushing N2O AND feeding more "pressurized" air into the cylinder. Just keep a very keen eye/ear out for it. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. http://clubsciontc.com/fo...-rims--5x100-pattern.html |
