THE SHADOW

Please use this thread for all exhaust questions. When SQmk finished the MOD features, I will transport all exhaust threads I can find in a search and move directly to this forum. This should help with A LOT of the double posts and exhaust inquirys.

Thanks SQmk

good idea b nice if this thread could go and split (ex: click on exhaust thread then click from a bunch of topics sounds, dyno not that it would do anything but maybe dynos for the catback, pictures and so on)

yeah, for right now...this should be able to keep a lot of the clutter off the main forums of people asking the same questions about all the exhausts for our car.

Yeah I know.......I'm going to see if I can do something about it with a little help from SQmk.

All, so far, I went through the first 3 full pages of the Engine Mods forum and pulled out all of the threads that you see in the Exhaust forum. As you can see, there's A SHIT LOAD of duplicate/similar threads. When posting on any of the forums, please make the title as specific as possible b/c this helps the search feature find threads faster.....more keywords to locate.

Hey i got a question?!

are resonators reusable? can they be cut from an old pipe and rewelded on to a new pipe of the same size?

Yeah....if it's a resonator with a fiber mesh inside, just make sure the mesh isn't deteriorated or blown out. If it's just baffles, you're fine.

but just keep in mind, if you search for something, and you find a similar (but not exactly the same) topic, and you post in it. You'll get accused of Thread-jacking...so its really a Catch-22 sometimes....

Yeah, that's possible.............but at least this way we can keep these somewhat together.........there's another design I'm working with together with SQmk to seperate the Exhaust forum as well. This will keep it a bit more organized.

what about like a "Tab" feature like the new Internet explorer has. that way, you could have different tabs for various topics within each thread/main topic.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to work with him. It'll be a tab/selection for each exhaust manufacturer and within that tab/selection you can post anything dedicated to that specific product/name brand.

hey guys, so lately my exhaust has been making this weird squeaking/rattling sound when the car is idling. I cant tell if its at the connection right in front of the rear axle, or if its up at the Cat...has anyone else had this type of problem ? I mean, maybe it just needs some adjustments

Sometimes, if the rear 2 spring bolts aren't tightened down completely, they will squeak when they flex. It's just the spring metal rubbing against itself. Wouldn't hurt to tighten all the bolts though

yeah i had a feeling thats what it was...its just an annoying squeak whenever the car is idling, can only hear it when the windows are down and it just bothers me when im sitting in traffic, ill tighten them up and see if that eliminates the sound...thanks web
