Alright so the first thing I'd like to do to my tC is get tint installed.

I've only gone to one tint place before, Tint Wor.. because I know they are "friendly" with the tint %'s. Now I was wondering if there is any place that has better quality tint with the same friendliness.

After doing some research it seems like SolarGuard is the best choice for our cars. Agree or disagree? Any help is appreciative.

Also what tint % is already on the moonroof? It looks like there is a factory installed tint, but not sure.

Thanks.

-Junior

Edit: I live in Ft. Lauderdale so anything as far south as Pembroke Pines (maybe N. Miami too) and as far north as Pompano is ideal for me.

moonroof probably has 35% so good luck matching it. i live in tampa, so I know the fla sun too, I reccommend 15%, cops won't give you shite for it, and it's not so dark that you can't see out of it at night. as long as you get lumar tint, or a recognized brand you shouldn't have a prob with it.

Hey Junior...welcome! Yeah you gotta get those windows tinted living here in the sunshine state! You should go to Senor Stereo..they have 1 in Pembroke Pines..I got mine done there...they are really nice there, they're pretty cheap but good quality...they use SolarGuard...and they'll do whatever % you want! I first got the darkest legal..30/15 but it wasn't dark enough for me so I went back and had them put 6 on. I got pulled over the day after but the cop let me go with a warning...just said to remove it...and I haven't been pulled over since. I dont think the pigs around here care that much.

Thanks for the link Web. I saw it before in one of your previous posts on tint. How I found out about SolarGuard

Thanks for the heads-up FloridaGirl. I've heard about Senior Stereo since way back in the day when they used to have those adds on Power-96. I'll check them out.

Quick follow-up questions for Web and anyone else.

Web, I think you said somewhere you had 20 on F/R and 40 on the windshield? How's that look compared to the 6% on the tC? I think my last car was 15% (been a while) and I liked it.

Also what's the tint percent on the moonroof it looks pretinted, is that worth getting redone or just leave it as is?

Appreciate the help.

I've got 35% on Sides and rear. 40% on the entire front windshield. 5% on the top moonroofs.

I say it's really worth tinting the moonroofs as much as possible. I cruise with the roof vented and the tint helps keep me from basically suntanning and being blind by over head sun.

35% is legal tint around here and at night is dark enough to have to come up close to look inside. I don't like it TOO dark b/c it's harder to see out of at night. My windsheild is dark enough to keep excess glare out of my eyes while driving and keeps plenty of night vision. 40% isn't dark but enough to help glare and some heat during the day.

15% is pretty dark so I'd be careful with that. For the moonroofs, you can get them to whatever you want. I believe they are either 35-40% stock so 5% brings them down a good bit. I like mine the way it is b/c it's not TOO dark. It seems to fit the Flint Mica paint pretty nicely IMO.

The place I said also has a lifetime warranty (for the legal tint)

Haha...yeah never go to the Swap Shop!! That place is a trip...but actually you can find some good deals there...but the drive-in is the best thing about it! From FL to Cali..wow! That's cool. Don't u miss your car?? Yeah no kidding...that's exactly what I try and do whenever I see a pig...roll 'em down or I usually have the sunroof open so it lets a lot of light in and it doesn't look so dark.

Haha, SoS is actually where I got my first sub/amp way back in the day. They gave me pretty good price on the amp, but they were shady on some other stuff so I haven't even thought of going there again.

Do any of you guys have this?

Sticker Requirements: The sticker to identify legal tinting is required between the film & glass on the driver’s side window.

It's a type of tint........it usually matches the AS1 line on the driver's upper left corner. It's basically a chemical treatment to the glass and acts as a dimmer.
