tcleezy_09 Boston Massachusetts, US Tire Changer	all this HID talk has got me thinking, and looking. i've been looking at cars that come with HID's from the factory. now, i see all colors from white, to blue, to violet. i guess my question is, i've seen BMW's and many other new cars with violet headlights. do they run a 12000K HID from the factory??? and if so, what would cause the cops to look at my car any different that say, a car that came with the headlights from the factory?

Factory HIDs are 4100k-4300k. What causes the violet looking color is actually the projector's cut off line. If you want to imitate that look, then you'd either want to get eBay projectors and 5000k bulbs or use your factory headlamps and 12,000k bulbs Also what would cause the cops to look at your car differently is that once they get closer to your car, your headlamps won't change color (since they are not looking at your cut off line anymore, but at your projector itself) and instead of being a yellowish white, it would still be purplish. So that would cause them to look at you a little funny than say a car that came with factory HIDs
