If it is for your 2008 tC in your profile you'll need an H11 kit. Also if you like the purple, we do carry it. Also so you know, the purples will be really bright too And since you're in Connecticut you won't get much hassle. Or if you want just your cut off line to be purple go with the 12k. The light below will be a whitish / blue while your cut off line will be very purple / blue and that is what people will see when they come against you.

Both of my 5000k low beams stop working on the same day and same time. They just don't turn on. I unplugged all the cables and replugged them in one at a time and nothing work. Luckily, I still have my stock bulbs, so I'm using those for now. I'm guessing it's either the HID bulbs are gone or something is wrong with both ballast. I bought this kit here on Feb 2008. Any ideas?

Sounds like the relay actually. Reinstall everything loosely and have a friend turn on the low beams while you have your head near the little black box on the relay harness. Listen for a click, if it clicks its fine, if not, its dead. Also check the fuse on the relay harness. Let me know how it goes.

I can hear a click sound every time I turn on my low beams. How do I check the fuse on the relay harness?

They are the little square boxes near the relay. The top opens up and you can check the fuse from there. If nothing, check your in car fuses and if still nothing, hit us up, we'll get you back up and running

so, im interested in getting some HID's for my tc, but i see people saying 500k, 10000k etc.. what does all of this mean? and are they easy to install (just changing the bulb or the wires as well?) ... are they DOT approved in CA? and do they burn out the original wiring? ...

Those 5,000k, 10,000k, etc. Those are kevlin ratings, in short it is just what color the bulb will be when lit. Here is a quick run down of colors
4300k = Crystal White
5000k = In between color
6000k = Crystal Blue
8000k = Blue
10000k = Deeper Blue
12000k = Violet (Deep Blue with a slight hint of purple)

The install is pretty easy. For someone who has never done it before, it takes about 30-50 mins. Here is the instruction manual to show you what will need to be done to get everything up and running.
www.3bspecialties.com/instructions/3BSpec_HID_Instructions.zip

No these are not DOT approved But if you are in cali, go with 5000k or 4300k, that way you won't get bothered. Also, because our kit comes with a relay harness, it does not burn out the original wiring.

From the pictures they look like 6000k or 8000k. With the 08 projectors, the higher up you go in the kevlin rating the more colorful the cut off line becomes.

I replaced the 20Amp fuse from the little square boxes and it fixed the issue. Apparently, the plastic around the old fuse melted into a small glob and I guess that prevented it from working. Thanks for the help.

Detailer

OK...So I am REALLY pumped because I really want the HID's for my tc, but I have a couple of questions!

I own a 2007 Scion tc and the color is midnight blue....I am not quite sure what to get....I was reading the whole thread, but I still need some input/answers:

1. Considering the color of the car, what would look better? the bright white that Web was talking about (I think he said 5,000 K) or the bright white with a hint of blue (That would probably be 6,000 K)

2. Cops seem to like my car for some reason, so I was wondering how bright are the 6,000 K compared to the 5,000K ?....and if the hint of blue is visible enough on the 6,000 K, that could easily get me pulled over because it might resemble the blue light that cops have?

3. I read in this thread some people talking about projector setup. I have no idea what that is! do I need to buy that with my HIDs?

4. I also read about the HID light not lighting/pointing forward ...rather wandering off to the sides/out of angle. Is that true? Would the light wander around??? I don't really understand what happens.

5. If I do decide to get it, would anyone here be willing to hook me up with the installation? I have never done a major installation by myself, and I really don't want to mess anything up....

Thanks in advance for your help!

^matter of personal taste

2. Cops seem to like my car for some reason, so I was wondering how bright are the 6,000 K compared to the 5,000K ?....and if the hint of blue is visible enough on the 6,000 K, that could easily get me pulled over because it might resemble the blue light that cops have?
the kelvin rating won't affect the actual output of lumens, although a 6,000 to 5,000 will reflect off objects much better

3. I read in this thread some people talking about projector setup. I have no idea what that is! do I need to buy that with my HIDs?
^just buy the right bulb the to with your model of headlight

4. I also read about the HID light not lighting/pointing forward ...rather wandering off to the sides/out of angle. Is that true? Would the light wander around??? I don't really understand what happens.
^there will be light scatter when using with normal headlamp reflectors

5. If I do decide to get it, would anyone here be willing to hook me up with the installation? I have never done a major installation by myself, and I really don't want to mess anything up....

Thanks in advance for your help!

oh yeah, and about the cop (color temp question)

6,000 has some blue, but it's tame, you'll be safe.

8,000 k is a little more blue but it still looks like ice.

You'll be fine either way. 10,000k might be pressing your luck.
