i'm looking for a portable gps system. any suggestions? i kinda want the one that does traffic updates for obvious reasons. my cousin has a mio or something. open to any suggestions on brand and model. thx

WOW, i totally forgot about this thread. thanks for the reply, but i JUST picked up a garmin nuvi 350. it's worked pretty well so far. only gripe is that the battery life isn't that long and it doesn't charge while its ON and plugged into the car. it has to be off in order to charge.

No it doesn't. The nuvi SHOULD be charging while it's plugged in and in use. I own a 660, and I sell the whole garmin line, and all of them I've used/played with/sold charge while in use.
