I live in SoCal. All the dealers I called were taking deposits for incoming cars. I put a deposit on a potential black cherry autmatic. Now the dealer tells me I have to come in and sign all the paper work (which basically means purchase it) before it arrives. He went on to tell me that if some other potentifal customer is aggressive enough to purchase the car from under me, they would take the offer. WTF did the $500 get me then? |

You-re getting the shaft. The $500 deposit should get you right to claim the car, otherwise there-d be no point in it at all. Call Scion, let them know what-s happening and the name of the dealer. In the future, you may want to ask the dealer what the 500$ gets you and get it in writing with signatures before handing over any money. Even with the -Scion Sales Philosophy- dealers are finding ways to screw you (especially on the west coast it seems) and you need to cover your butt just like any other high $$$ investment. |

your 500 deposit should have included some paperwork, did you not sign papers saying -i paid this amount- and -This color _____ These options _______- on a white piece of paper... This is your proof of deposit, and your requiest for an order...at the bottom it SHOULD read something in the vicinity of -I agree that this is the car i want, and an exact car, or car just like it *)with more or less acc(* will be found, and i will be notified- If you didnt- sign anything like that, go and sign some papers man! haha Your 500$ deposite should have sealed the deal! |

That-s the thing. They did tell me the $500 gets my name on the list for this car. I come in when it comes in and sign documents, drive it away. I even asked what if I don;t want it anymore. They said the deposit is refundable. I have an invoice, but at that time, the invoice didn;t have a full VIN #. They just got a full VIN yesterday. It should be here in 5-7 days. all I got was a copy of the check, and an invoice without an ID. I-m so pissed. I called scion and they said it all depends on the dealers policy. Crown Toyota of Ontario doesn-t seem to have a real policy. |

The way I see it is that if a car has a deposit (Read: Someone has dibs on it) then as soon as it arrives at the dealership it goes to a special parking area. This space can be where other customers can look if they want (I can imagine wanting to have it on display somewhat if its a color not on the lot or something) ... but should be assured that the car they-re looking at is already sold. Bottom line, there-s no reason why your dealer should even hint that your car is available to anyone else once have deposit on it. |

We never actually contract the car before it gets tot he dealer and you see it first to make sure its what you dreamed of. The deposit we take here is a first right of refusal and in the form states that you have the first opprotunity to purchase the car when it arives. It also stats that the deposit is completly refundable for any reason. I dont know why some places make it hard I mean its Scion its suposed to be easy. |

When I went in the other week I put $200 down on my car, told him exactly what I wanted and he put it on an order list. Boom there I got my car ordered to what I want. Also on this sheet they put expected delivery date with a 15 day leway on it. If they couldn-t find the car in 15 days the contract can be broken by me.If someones buying the car from under you and you put down a $500 deposit, I-d love to know what they said that the money was used for then. |

The good news is I got my car!!! I called customer service the following day I received the message from my dealer. I talked to customer service about my complaint, i called Scion and expressed my disappointment in the service I was receiving. Customer service called me back an hour later. Like a miracle, my car was in. How much do you want to bet it was in the night the dealer threatened me to come in and sign my contract? I spoke to the General Sales Manager. he told me that what they were doing was legal. I told him I know it-s legal, but it doesn-t make it good business. I told him in person as well as on the questionaire that I will not purchase from them again, I would not get my tC serviced by them and I will tell everyone I know that Crown toyota in Ontario gave me bad service. They didn-t even give me a full tank of gas!I guess that I just expect to get something for a -deposit--some kind of guarantee. My sales person said the only thing it got me was my name on the VIN? WTF good does that do me? My name on a piece of paper. Woohoo. At least I have my beautiful Black Cherry tC now. But Crown Toyota will never see it again.Sandra |

Glad to hear you got your car.I-ve said it before and I-ll say it again ... and Dealers, I hope you-re listening ... because from what I-ve read in my time here, some of you need to badly.Your cars a pure priced! The only difference (from the customer point of view) between buying from Scion Dealer A and Scion Dealer B ... is customer service ... if you don-t have that, people are going to go elsewhere. The car is popular and in short supply now ... but in a year ... or two ... that will not be the case ... however, the bad reviews of your service will still be read by tons of people researching a 2006 tC and those who already purchased are going to remember who their friends are.On the other hand, I have read about and experienced some great dealers too and those people can just keep making money. |

Scion-s pure pricing was to try to make the transaction easier and improve customer satisfaction. There are honest and dishonest salespeople out there. I work at a dealership selling Scions. |

You went to Longo didn-t you buddy? If you don-t mind waiting an unguaranteed 6 weeks thats cool, but do what I did. I got the 37 (seriously) closest dealers to me and called each twice a week till I got what I wanted. Eventually I found a 5spd fm that hadn-t been bombarded with accessories to 22k$. I gotta say too, the sales reps and mgr. at West Covina Toyota/Scion are the best. |

I went to Crown Scion in ontario, and i have been calling around for months! it is so stupid the way these dealerships work, they say that you cant get a TC stock unless your willing to wait so i went and orderd it, and threw on a ground effects kit (why not only a 20 doller diff. on payments). a lot of dealerships wont even sell you one unless you put 1000 dollers of extras on it. Its beacuse they cant even keep the cars on the lot so they bump up the price by puting all that s**t on them. |

Waiting is so hard! I ordered a tC last weekend and they said a month or so. I ordered mine from South Bay Scion, and they-re pretty cool. I remember dealers going crazy when the tC first came out (doing stuff like adding stupid accessories and fully loading it) but I didnt think that they were still doing that. Manual rocks btw |

i bought my tc at crown too, the internet fleet manager aaron b. was my sales representative. he pissed me off a grip too. i placed the deposit down when he told me the waiting list is around 1 week, thats cool, except he never called me. i thought dealers were supposed to give you updates once in a while. he never returned my calls, and never answered the questions i had. but the sales manager there was pretty courteous to me, after speaking with him, he managed to get my tc by the day after.btw, i got my tC after one full month of waiting. |

I just went to crown scion other day, They were trying to pay way less trade in value than my car says it is and they were trying to give me a 383/month for 60 months payment with 2500 down. I was like wtf? I just told em im going to Longo -their enemies- as he put it. Right now im looking into selling my car and as soon as i do im heading down to el monte longo |

McCord Vancouver Toyota was totally awesome, so I definitely recommend them if you-re in the area and not wanting to make a trip to Portland. While I did had to compromise on the color a bit to avoid having to wait 45 days (side airbags being a factory installed option, it makes the car much more difficult to obtain, I-d guess), I was happy with the news following the weekend I had placed my order and a deposit. No contract, though, but they certainly didn-t shaft me. Eveyone I dealt with from that dealership was curteous and perfectly willing to answer any questions, listen in on comments, and let me test drive when I wanted to. They called me as promised when the car arrived, and even though I went in with only two hours to spare before having to arrive at work that day, everything went smoothly and I got the car exactly as described (though their detailers could use a little lesson). Full tank of gas, too, thank god, and only 4 miles on the odometer. |

got my tC from Scion/Toyota of orange. i called about 20+ dealers only and placed a $500 deposit at toyota of orange and toyota RSM. my experience tells me... dealers usually try to add stuff to the tC-s to make more money so if you want a stock tC, you-re most likely in for a nice wait. i wanted everything stock and manual, so i actually waited for 6 wks (they told me 4 wks). but i gotta say, the tC is one SWEET ride!!good luck w/ the wait! |

Hi, I-m a newbie here and actually just ordered my tC on Saturday, now I-m just playing the waiting game. I keep reading that people had to put a deposit down, I didnt have to. I thought I was but they never asked for it. My dealer called me on Tuesday to reconfirm that the order had been placed, now its just a matter a time. Should I be worried because of the no deposit cuz I dont want to wait any longer than I have to. |
