so, i have been reading all around trying to figure out the best way to do my exhaust system. i already have bought the dc header, and the zpi catback exhaust. i am planning on going turbo in a 10 months, and i am wanting to do everything i can with my car before the turbo, so i have less to do after it. my question is what all should i still get, that will benefit me for now, and when i get fi. also, i have seen that the majority of people get axelback exhausts. am i not knowing something? should i have gone with an axelback instead? its cold and there are wolves after me....*shudder*

Axle back will just give you mainly sound and maybe 1-2 whp. To benefit you for your turbo future, an s-pipe, mid pipe and axle back would be in order. Since you already have the axle back I think, just get the S-pipe and mid pipe. If you want to bump your pipes up to 3 inches though, you're going to have to go custom. As far as I know, our s-pipes aren't offered in 3 inch sizes nor are the mid pipes. Doule check with others that have turbos but, s pipe and midpipe will help you the most now and later.

Or, if you want to save on the hoses b/c they run about 75$+......get a roll of exhaust heat wrap for about 40$ and heat wrap them . Works for me and after driving on the highway and the engine is obviously at operating temperature, I can hold my hand on the hoses without burning myself.

if you are going turbo, then you wouldnt want a light flywheel. a turbo app with a 9lbs flywheel will be useless. keep your current flywheel but youll need to upgrade your clutch asap

yea i sounds like you need an spipe, the midpipe is included in your catback. The header will be replaced by a better one with the turbo kit. You need a clutch and some enginework is you wanna be safe..

I can CUSTOM paint/smoke basically anything on the tc.. headlights, taillights, trim, etc. Drop me a PM if interested in some work. Check out the links to my work.

if u want to be safe then you would need to go to ZPI and check out there shit. you should get pistons (low compressio) forged rods headstuds and you may want a new head. you be running boost you dont wana blow a head gasket or nething internaly. so pistons rods at least. you will be able to run 14-16psi safly with the internals done.

Both...........

CAT back MAY be able to give you around 4-6 whp (understanding that you would have a header), and an axle back MAY give you up to 0-3 whp.

It depends on your setup and if you have other things done to the engine.

If nothing else is done, those numbers may be just a notch lower (1-2 whp lower).

The intake will help with sound and a little bit with better breathing so being able to free up as much near the motor would probobly be better. I would say CAT back. Your header and S-pipe will still retain some pressure so you won't lose much off the low end.

if i was you i would get intake and if that is your only mod then get a catback. system. and then a pully. that is good. if ou get header and spipe which you should eventually to make more power then you need to get a resinaotr muffler placed in the md pipe.
