Ok I REALLY need some help on this issue. I'm fixing to buy some Meagan headers but I have some questions. What the heck is a antifouler and what does it do. also what are some problems that could go wrong with my warranty. I guess i really just want somebody to explain to me all the crap with aftermarket headers and how to do it correctly.

An antifouler is basically a spacer for your rear O2 (oxygen) sensor. It backs the sensor out of the pipe to prevent it from "fouling" up early from the increased carbon coming from the headers. It is necessary so that your CEL (check engine light) does not come on.

Warranty issues wouldn't come up b/c a header really does nothing other than increase exhaust flow. No worries for headers.

For correct install, check the Install/DIY forum on this site. I made it a sticky entitled "Header install and Antifouler" I believe. It's an install for the DC Sports header but the directions are exactly the same.

Hope this all helps.

Jman Welcome to the club… Keep asking questions.

Web answers questions very well so there is not much else to discuses. Only like to add on the warranty part if you have any type of engine warranty issue the dealer my try to breach the warranty do to the header. Long story short the dealer were I purchased my car gave me $1500 to cancel me 36000/ 3Yr warranty with them because of the modifications that I have done to my car.

Awesome, I should take mine to the dealer and ask how much they'd give me to cancel my 3/36 ......haha I could always use that 1500 for another couple of parts

And thanks for the comment.

Yeah, go to Autozone and get 2 18mm antifoulers (1 pack; 2 per pack). Check the part number on the DIY I mentioned, it has it all listed I believe.
