Yea but did you see the stats a few posts up? 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. WTF Thats terrible for a 260hp car

I'm pretty sure its faster than that other sites claim low 6s and low- mid 14s.

I guess since its so damn heavy for the reason of bringing little numbers. 260bhp is prolly around 235ish-240 to the wheels and all you can pull is a mid-low 14? I pulled a 14.3 in my SS and all i have is a intake! And i only have 205 HP... So the specs say!

yea I believe they weight around 3500lbs and with about 230whp, low 14s is about as much as you will get, same as altimas, maximas, accords and other fwd v6s. As far as your SS, sounds like you own a car you don't know much about, SS weight about 3000lbs and dyno at around 210-215whp, in cooler ambient temps as much as 220whp is within reach, I hope you got the g85 package because the stock axles are not known to withstand much.

Well if you read my post i said SO THE SPECS SAY i know what my car dyno's. I was "stating" what the specs say. As me being a jerk cuz not many ppl know that those cars are underrated for insurance purposes.. And to clear things up, the cobalt's/redline's axles are as weak as any fwd car. You only break axles when you wheel hop. If you know how to control it you will be fine on the stock axles, depending on what you are putting down as far as hp

Pick up the 04 wrx and convert it to 04 STI, and put a front mount on it and you will be good to go.

This is the one designated thread to discuss "Racing stories/wins/losses".....There's no need to open MULTIPLE threads about racing a car one night, then another the next night, and another the night after that.....

This site does not condone street racing, nor do any of the moderators or the administrator, but to pretend like it doesn't happen is just being naive. It's best to keep one thread designated to racing (whether it's legal or not) and leave it at that. We just don't need to have an entire forum dedicated to street racing.

Street racing is illegal, but to say it doesn't happen is just turning the other cheek.

Ok, so this happened last night, back road, coming from Laurel towards Olney Rt. 198..

I pulled up to a red light, and there was this mustang, it was one of the newer ones, prolly 06-07, lowered, exhaust, and a bunch of stickers to the side. Next to it, there was an Acura TL-s, rims, lowered. They both started to rev their engines, obviously, I wasn't stupid enough to join, because I KNEW I could not even compare to them, but I decided to keep up to see how they did against each other...

Lord behold, as soon as the light turned green, the mustang didn't start out, rather JUMP out...it was sooo much freaking power. All I heard was 1st gear, and 2nd gear, and it was prolly 3-4 cars ahead of of the Tl-s...by 3rd gear, it was prolly 7-10 cars ahead of the Tl-s....

At the next light, the Tl-s and I caught up with the mustang...second race, again, that mustang OWNED the Tl-s......and, to my dismay, my tc was able to keep up with the Tl-s...

Anyhow, we were not able to even catch up with the Mustang, but I do remember that on his front windshield it said "SALEEN".....are those some type of special edition or something like that?

But when someone opens a thread asking opinions about street racing...BAM locked in seconds. I never said street racing does not exist. Just seems like its ok for some people and not others to post stuff....Either way life goes on lol

If people want to gloat about it and make themselves feel better by posting how they wrecklessly flew through traffic and blazed by cops while drinking a 5th and talking on their cell phone, this is the thread to do it. We all know one would be an idiot to do that but at least it's localized in this one thread and not over 50 more on the site. Plus, I wouldn't advise people to open opinion threads about street racing (although it already happened) b/c it's always going to get the same responses.

Let's just leave things as is and move on with the site. Post stories of wins/losses/ties...whatever on this thread only.

This also depends on how the user posts their comments. Gloating about almost killing innocent people or just wrecklessly winding in and out of traffic is just stupid and will get a harsh response. Just post the actual win/loss/tie results and basic information in between, and all will settle nicely.

went to the race track and race an acura integra w/ a b16 w/ intake manifold, CAI, exhaust, headers, and stage 1 clutch. Ended beating him by a car lenght, i thought i was going to loose cause he said he does high 13's in the 1/4 mile. Also raced my friend in his 04 GTO n beat him too. You might not belive me but i did. He has stock tires so he no traction what so ever. Going to post the video in youtube as soon as my friend gives me a copy of it.

edit: here is one of the vids of me racing the gto. I raced him three times. Lost two but won one. Ths vid i lost but i wasn't that far back.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDgPD0Ikd1w&feature=user

GTOs SUCK at hooking up off the line on stock tires. I beat one up to the 1/8 mile mark but then he sprayed after gaining traction and ran right passed me. If they don't hook up and the guy doesn't ease off the throttle, you'll jump them by a lot. The one I raced was the 5.7, not the 6.0 though.

Just went poo poo all over a 2.5 S Altima.

I was sitting at a light and of course, the car that has been tailing me for about 2 miles jumps in the open lane. It's a black Altima 2.5 S with blacked out windows and that's about it...haha. Well, he/she bucks the car a bit at the red light but I'm not sure if they just hit the gas by accident being stupid or what b/c the tint was soooo black. Light goes green and I'm still deciding whether or not to go so as I roll forward he/she punches it.

They gain an easy 3 cars on me before I decide to go but then I do. By the middle of 2nd gear I gained back 1 length and shifting up through 3rd into 4th I hit mirror to mirror with them. They didn't like the fact that by the middle of 4th I was .5 car length in front of them and still pulling away pretty hard b/c I saw the driver's window go down and a middle finger point at me.....

By the time I hit 110 and shifted into 5th, I had a good 1.5 lengths on them and still pulling. Those 2.5 S Altimas are just NOT cars that should race. The Altima SE-R on the other hand, I just don't touch that one.

I've beat

olderbody mustang dont know what was done to it
he pulled up and wanted to go. took him by 2 lengths

another mustang same body style at the track took him by 4 1/2 lengths

a gang of civics integras with body kits most all single cam

92 white eg hatch ( good friend of mine) jdm b16 I/H/E cams ls tranny fully gutted, took him by 1 1/2

new body mustang from a 40 on the freeway he had me till i hit fourth than i took him by 1 car

another eg hatch ls vtec I/H/E cams, intake manifold, chipped ecu
took him by 1/2 length THE BEST race i've had.
besides the 99' si b16 built head I/H/E, two-step, chipped p28 ecu (another good friend) we were dead even all the way through 3rd, he took me from launch (two-step) i caught up in third and as soon as i hit fourth he braked as i was pulling on him

and most recent the new body 2.5 rabbit turbo. bone stock, i wasn't really trying to race him but he pulled up started revving all crazy and i looked at him and started laughing and as soon as the light turned green he dropped the clutch and was just sitting there spinning tires for ever so i revved to 3000 and feathered it and by second i was ahead by 1 car than his turbo kicked in caught half a car and by third i took another car length.
