BTW i am automatic so my car blows lol

jsut remembered he has dc header as well.

and when he shifts, it drops to about 5500 and he drags it out to 8k, a lot more vtec time than the tc has in peak hp. if i were 5 spd it would def be a lto closer, but he gets about 3 cars on me lol

Dude...lol, that explains everything right there. A 5spd tC would put 3 cars on you too if driven right. You should have said you were auto to begin with. If you were manual, you would have a different opinion on how fast a Lude is compared to a tC.
yeah it was auto. he only got him by like half a body. yeah i seen ur vids on youtube of ur tc and the z, and im impressed and jealous lol

yeah i didnt have a choice when getting the car, my parents insisted on an auto cause they "want me to learn to drive first" so arguing went on and on lol but i am getting the 5 spd in the spring so its all good. neither of us have gone to a track. and all races are always 3 honks around here

Was the G35 auto as well? If they leave the traction control on, it will retard the motor and not pump out all the HP they are rated at. I have a 350z so I assume the same goes for the G35 as well.

on my way home from work, a 06' civic hatchback was driving next to me. We drove for a mile down the street with out bothering each other. Then we caught a red light, i heard him reving his engine so i look over at him to see if he wanted to race but he was to busy concentrating on the light. The light hit green and off we were, every gear change i did i was passing him. So we caught anther green light and i asked him what he had , he was stock, so we went at it again and same result every gear change i kept leaving him. We were doing 80mph on the street, I ended up beating him by a couple of cars.

If you beat him at all, he either broke something....didn't know how to drive...or just wasted his time. Bone stock the S/C Cobalt will walk a modded NA tC. Best friend has one with only an intake and he runs an EASY 15 flat. With the added weight of your subs, I'd definitely doubt this one. I'd have to see this one in person to even give you the benefit of the doubt. If it was just the SS Cobalt (non S/C model), then maybe it'd be close and you could take the win but if he was S/C, doubtful the tC took it.

For my story...

Well, I am driving along on Rt. 100 when all of a sudden a white Corolla S comes up next to me and starts bucking. For those who haven't seen them, this is it:

specs:
Quote:
t's rated at 132 hp at 6,000 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm.

Quote:
The quarter-mile comes up in 16.9 seconds at 83.1 mph.

Quote:
curb weight (lbs) 2,811

Now really........why even try? I decided to give him the lead so he took off and I just easily caught him and passed him and just kept walking away. He, of course, flies by after I let off the gas and wait for him to catch up.

Would you give me a lead?
J/K, these are slower than mine was stock, but have more HP!? (mine was 126-130hp @6000, and 124 lb-ft at 4200) I don't get it. Where's the improvement if it's a slower S, after they control of the gas pedal in 04/04 I thought they couldn't get any worse.

I raced one tonight from the light (he was revving and honking) i pulled 3 cars on him by 65. At the next light he asked me what mods I had and I said "the norm", he said bs, I must have a supercharger cause he has a Corolla S, um I'm de-badged and have a different grill, but come on!!!

He couldn't be, because the new SI is not a hatchback. So, which part is incorrect? If a Hatchback, then it's not an 06. If it's an 06 then is it the SI?

Well, I tested my car against a new 6 speed V6 MIVEC Eclipse GT and had a positive outcome . Started from a 55mph roll and dumped into 3rd and punched it. Pulled him hard up through 4th and around 90-95 he started to creep back in. As I hit 5th, we hit about 105 and he was coming up on me enough that he would have eventually taken it over around the 120 mark.

Prior to the run, we were pacing next to each other just chatting while cruising and he asked what I had done to mine and I just said basics...nothing big, which is the truth as you can see from my profile. After the run, he came up next to me and said "Bull sh*t you have basics....you're turbo aren't you!?" Now, I know some will say "Yeah right....he didn't say that," but I kid you not. I got that one other time running a Mazda 6 V6 but when I showed them they couldn't believe it. Same thing with the Eclipse owner....they were amazed that it was not turbo or S/C when they saw the engine. It's nice to be underestimated and come out ahead in the end...

Quick specs of the 08 Eclipse V6 GT:
-6 speed manual
-curb weight: 3483 lbs.
-HP: 263 @ 5750
-TQ: 260 @ 4500
-Compression: 10.5:1
-Engine: 3.8L V6 MIVEC
-Bore: 3.74
-Stroke: 3.54
-0-60: ~6.8 seconds

Yeah, that's what I was thinking until I raced him. It seemed like it had a nice get up and go but he couldn't catch back up until high end and it just seemed like he was coming up relatively slow.

Yea those new eclispes arent anythin all at really. They are overrated. Mitsubshi is losing it. Even the new Evo's lost it. The pro drivers only got a 13.8 out of it. Thats pretty sad for a 40 grand whip

I guess since its so damn heavy for the reason of bringing little numbers. 260bhp is prolly around 235ish-240 to the wheels and all you can pull is a mid-low 14? I pulled a 14.3 in my SS and all i have is a intake! And i only have 205 HP... So the specs say!

last saturday i raced twice.

1st race, DA9 integra- beat him by like 4 cars.

2nd race, 06 Civic (non si) beat me by a car.

im starting to get tired of losing to slower cars,
just because im automatic. ill probably be trading
in the tC for a 04-05 impreza wrx by december.

He could take a type s from a dig but not from a roll. And MS3's he'd never stand a chance. Those cars arent in his category as far as power but price it would be
