haha, yeah, i LOVE the dumbestic guys who say "Theres no replacement for displacement".... ROFL...yeah, maybe in the 80s there wasn't dumbasses. While there is still no way to "replace" the advantages of a larger displacement engine, there are certainly alternatives (boosting, variable valve timing, volumetric efficiency, etc..) they to counter the turbo tc > 5.0 stang statement, they say, well, yeah, if you turbo a mustang it will kill a turbo tc. Well duh. But first off, the mustang's MSRP is more than the tc (even with a turbo kit installed). 2ndly, the POINT is, that boosting a 2.4L to beat a 5.0 is effectively removing the advantage of having a larger displacement engine. Obviously, the more displacement you start with, the greater power potential you have. But unlike the old days, when if you wanted 500hp, you needed a 7.0 Liter V8, today you can make 700whp on a 1.8L B series motor. The dumbestic guys always say, oh yeah, well if i boosted my vette, it would make 700whp too! Yeah, and if i built a stroker 2jz w/ single turbo it would smoke the boosted vette. it goes on and on. the issue is volumetric efficiency...which i may be wrong, but i think the tc > 5.0 stang in that category. Scion tc: Its essentially a 2 door Camry that spins up the tires quicker..... |

Took off with an SLK 320 today (non Kompressor V6) and he jumped me a bit and from 0-85 I didn't leave his back bumper . The SLK 320 jumped by about 4-5 feet (so about 3/4 of his car or so) and as I roled into first I heard him floor it. Fucker!.....by the time I engaged my "race" mode, his back bumper was at my front fender......hahaha.........it never left that point but my front bumper began to pull into his front passenger window and then I ran out of road. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. http://clubsciontc.com/fo...-rims--5x100-pattern.html |

ok so i was at my friends house last night and ever since i got my new car EVERYONE wants to try to race me, so i got tired of people askin and decided to race one of my friends....he had a cobalt so i was like alright lets just go...well let me tell u i got my ass handed to me...i found out later that night that he did all these mods to it to make it a 12 second car....WHO MODS A COBALT?!?!?! i mean nothin against the car but its not one to be known to be fast or anything....i just found it really funny after i found that out, i mean if ur gonna want a fast car at least get a car known for speed or at least looks nice :/ ![]() |

I finally got a chance to re-race my friend's cobalt today He beat me by only 3/4 of his car length as compared to 1.5 full lengths about 4 months ago. I got him by about 1 length on the start...I launched perfect and held it. He shifted early into 2nd and I got another .5 length but then when he hit 3rd, that S/C just pulled him up to me (Injen intake also) and at the 1/4 mark he was 3/4 in front of me. His brother's 98 SS Impala and I raced and I peeled too much in 1st and lost by 1 length. Pretty damn good for a 2.4L vs. a 5.7 Vette engine We took videos so whenever my buddy uploads them, I'll get copies and post them.
