Crash Clovis New Mexico, US Godlike Advisor	Raced an 06 Cobalt SS (a buddies car). We started at around 70 mph, and I took off on him. We were pretty close to even until around 110 mph. He then kicked the living shit out of me. He has a higher top end in the SS, but I can whip his ass whenever it comes to taking off at a dead stop. The SEARCH feature on the site works, I promise. If the SS is stock, then this seems odd to me because our cars can go 125-130mph and the SS is turbo'd (stock but still) so shouldn't you have gained on him in the end? I dunno... I raced a friends 04' Grand Prix from 60mph+ and I pulled away from him at 110+ ... at 120+ he was falling way behind because his car topped out at 110 or something.

Crash Clovis New Mexico, US Godlike Advisor	The Cobalt SS is no joke. At 110 he was ripping me apart, I had nothing left and he was walking away. I got my car to 120, but he still had me beat. SoFloTC Boca Raton Florida, US Godlike Advisor	generally speaking.. a tc vs a SS .. we dont have a chance unless its heavily modded.. even a stock SS and btw the SS's are supercharged with 200hp except for the new models which are turbo'd with 260hp/260tq...

Crash Clovis New Mexico, US Godlike Advisor	Well in the take off, my manual vs his automatic SS, I whipped his ass. In top end, he destroyed me. So I dunno what to think. All I have done to my car is cat-back exhaust. So im pushing maybe 169 to the wheels, hes doing somthing close to 200. With a few more mods, I should be at Cobalt SS level to where I can actually hang in the higher speeds. The SEARCH feature on the site works, I promise. USE IT!!! krdshrk New Brunswick New Jersey, US Godlike Advisor	The older Cobalt SS (2007) had 2 levels.... 1 with the supercharger, one without. Cobalt 1SS has a NA 2.4L making 173HP. That might have been the one you were racing? The Cobalt SS Supercharged has the 2.0L ECOTEC 205HP SC'd. 2008 Cobalt 1SS is Turbocharged - 260HP @ 5300 RPM, 260lb-ft @ 2000 RPM. But it was only one race and I think I was still in first gear right when he floored it, so I was in a sweet spot (4800rpm or so). EDIT: Oh ya, and I don't think he thought he would find me on here!LOL When I asked what color it was I got voted down and we never heard from him again. Before he moved he threw a egg at our garage door. Oh man that hurts.LOL Mac and iPhone/iPod help!
