I use to have one of those. they can be pretty quick if fixed up. I wouldn't put too much money into the engine when a nice 350 would be cheaper than fixing that 4.3 up. They are solid lil engines though. I beat the heck out of mine and it lasted me for 200,000 miles until i sold it.

at the light we both signaled for the OK and waited until green. when green drop i droped my clutch at about 2200 rpms and pulled him straight out the dig, and kept pulling him all the way through 4th. then he let off. so i won my first race in my tC, which feels so good. i saw the guy lipping to him self what the fuck does he have done to that car. lol i started busting out. i learned that day, people think 4cyl engines are extremely slow, but are extremely shocked to see their baby V8 with around 255 hp lose.

would get a vid but i was running errands for the madré and it was on the spur of the moment lol

can't wait to put some mods on my stock beast. then i'll really be pullin some people out of ditches my goal is to be able to beat an evo by the end of my senior yr in hS

i hope that was an sn-95 model(95-9, and even then you might be able to take one from a roll(maybe)but not a dig, unless he was spinning he's bald tires. Anything newer than '99 would've beat you easely.

This is from Wiki, they don't even show a 4.6L...

"In 1994, the Mustang underwent its first major redesign in 15 years. The design, code named "SN-95" by Ford, was based on an updated version of the rear-wheel drive Fox platform known as "Fox-4". It featured dramatic new styling by Patrick Schiavone that incorporated some stylistic elements similar to those on earlier Mustangs.[9] However, unlike all earlier Mustangs, a notchback coupé model was unavailable.
The base model came with a 3.8 L V6 engine rated at (1994-1995) 145 hp (108 kW) or ( 1996-1998 ) 150 hp (112 kW), while the GT featured the 302 cu in V8, now using the intake manifold from the Thunderbird, a 60 mm throttle body, and a 215 hp (160 kW) rating. The Cobra model also returned with its GT-40 equipped 302 cu in engine, now rated at 260 hp (194 kW). The Mustang was named Motor Trend magazine's Car of the Year for the third time in 1994. In 1996, the Ford Modular engine was introduced for the first time for the Mustang."

and my friends was a 96 by the way and I'm trying to get this kid with a 5.0 to race me but he wont, i don't know if he is scared or thinks he would be wasting his time...

...I'm pretty sure that wikipedia isn't always right it is user based and unreliable. but i raced the 1st year the 4.6 liter mustang that was realeased and here is a link to show that the 4.6 DID exists

by the way this link is about aftermarket work on a 4.6 but it shows that their is a 4.6 liter v8 for the mustang.

a stock 4.6 wasn't the fastest thing on the road by far. my buddy has a 96 gt with the 4.6 in it. his car ran a high 11. to do so he had to put different heads, cam, intake, header back exhaust, and nitrous on the car to get to that point. if you get one with only an exhaust or something on it and a bad driver they are dogs on the street or track.

Car is being put on hold until further notice. Work will continue pending on if i get the new toy i want or not. I will keep you all posted.

UPDATE ON THE TUNE. It went ok but a few little issues that are causing my performance to be less than expected have shown themselves. Now I have to resolve them when I get the chance and it will be back to PTuning for the finishing touches.

I was catching up to a nicely modded IS300 on the road.. Lowered, rims, real clean. Anyways I guess he thought I wanted to race so when the light turned green he floored it. At first I hesitated but I saw how clear the traffic was ahead of us and decided to go for it.. I ended up mis-shifting into 2nd but after getting into gear I was slowly catching up to him by 3rd and by 4th we were mirror-to-mirror. I decided to let off since we were approaching a turn and I wasn't too confident about speeding into a turn... I'm pretty sure he was shocked to see me side by side with him in my tC

there was no 4.6l on the '95 model only the 5.0 pushrod motor from the older fox bodies. Yes they made a cobra but i know thats not the one he raced. He ran a gt with an intake and exhaust making less than 200 at the wheels, good run regardless.

its very cheap to get some real good power from a 96-98 gt. All you gotta do is go to a junk yard get the heads and intake off a 99+ gt, make sure is in good condition, have a shop custom make you a full exhaust and get some 3.73 gears. this will run you <$1000 and the car will run very hard, bolt-ons are a waste of money on those models.

yeah thats what he did. swapped out for some newer heads and got a bullet intake manifold along with the cams. then the header back exhaust and an intake. plus the nitrous. he also has some rather healthy tires on it. other than that he is running stock suspension with no sway bars or front strut bar.lol. that thing likes to sway on the high end.

I'm not into street drag races at the stoplight anymore, but this guy rolls up to my left in a slammed 95 Honda Prelude and just keeps revving his sh^t.

I look over to my gf in the passenger seat and say,

"I hope this guy isn't serious, I'm not even in the mood for this sh^t."

After sitting there listening to this dipstick rev his non VTEC prelude for about another 15 seconds my gf says,

"f^ck it, smoke him, this guy is pissing me off already"

So the light turns green and I launch real soft to see how he'd take off and sure enough he wanted a drag.

I gave him one car length before punch it and hearing me throttle he gases it, but I pull hard right by him at 6,000 rpm before I shift.

Then I hear this POOF-hiss and I'm thinking he had a blow off valve?! What? There was no turbo spool.

The sound was him grinding as gears at a pathetic attempt to keep up and as soon as he did that he just left off and laughed at himself.

It looked & sounded like a 94-95 Prelude 2.3L and I'm pretty sure it was non VTEC or else he should have smoked me.

So I get off of work tonight...barely even a quarter of the way home when these two acura integras fly through traffic. One looked newer..possibly the last year they made them and was clean as hell. The other was probably a 93-95 (not sure as I am not a part of the import scene). So I am keeping up with them, not dawging it..I do get ahead of them and let off the gas as I passed them. The newer integra turned off leaving the other integra that passed me after I let off the gas. What happened next made me completely lose it laughing. This shmuck turned his flashers on! So I'm thinking...what the hell..this car isn't nearly as quick as my 4.0 mustang with exhaust, intake and custom 93 octane tune. I'm completely stock, this integra had at least a fart can. Didn't sound like it had an intake. So the light turns green..and I launch around 1500-2000k rpms. Didn't squeal the tires to bad and had a good launch. He was at my quarterpanel till 2nd...I shifted and he fell back ever since. Listening to his car..those integras have really long gears. So having all this happen, what do I do? Yep..you guessed it. FLASHERS!!! This royally pissed him off and he comes up on my ass and around to my right side...and is pacing me while we are still rolling. He wanted to go from a roll but real men race from a dig. So we go again at the next light. This time I get the rpms up to 2000-2500 before dumping clutch. I had considerable amount of wheel spin this time but still had him to my quarterpanel. I hit 2nd and no less then a half a second later he goes to hit 2nd and nails the rev limiter in his car. He missed 2nd gear severely. So he got beat 2 times in a row. One thing's for sure. I miss the power of my mustang but laughed this one up. I'm not one for racing on the streets, but I wanted to see what my stock tc had for this integra. He turned off in defeat, probably posting on his integra forum about how I probably had full bolt ons. Then people will tell him it was a good loss with all of my mods LOL.

Nice but..............what Mustang has a 4.0? hahahaha....you mean a 4.6 or a 5.0?

Complaining is futile when you supported the victory.
