To be honest, i'm a little skeptical about a 13.06 with only a 100 shot too. I've seen(and driven) a turbo'd tC running at about 235 whp and it only ran 14.5s, on the BEST run of the car's life it only ran a 13.9 and that was with slicks.

I know nitrous and turbo are way different but 100shot vs 110 whp..... and the 100 shot wins by a full second???

235whp and only a 14.5??? thats whack.....stock 07 tcs are at about 145whp and about 15.4 1/4mile, so with 90 more to the wheels, it cant cant even run a full second faster? the new MS3 has like what 260hp, about what the turbo tc has, and it runs 13's stock...is it just the driver wasnt too good? cause if a 14.5 is all i can get from a 235whp tc, i wont even bother turboing. can you clear this up?

yea i agree with him. 90whp should put u up well above a second. My bros speed 3 has close to 280whp and he runs a average of 13.3 and his best was a 13.0.

yea the guy must be a TERRIBLE driver to get a 14.5 with 235whp. rsx-s's are getting that with basic bolt ons, they are at 174whp stock...so assuming the i/h/e gives em 200 to the wheels, they are still 35whp shy of your friends tc and run the same time.

Ok, so I had an incident the other day on my way to work that really just irritated me like no other. I'm sitting at a light waiting to turn onto rt. 19 to go to work and I notice in the turning lane perpendicular a quintessential rice Civic(a 92-95,slammed, limo tint, altezza tails, huge muffler tip from what I could see) and I all I can do is just sit there and shake my head. So, I go along minding my own business just cruising and about 2 mins later and I see him riding my tailpipe...he was practically in my backseat. Everytime I started to go from a green light he would just floor it and ride me. At this point, I was very annoyed, and I saw no signs of anything but an exhaust, so up this pretty steep hill I just floor it and easily pull 5 or 6 cars ahead. Of course, everytime I let off the gas he would pull right on my bumper again, and then I'm about to pull into work and I get the ricer fly-by. Grr.

Turns out a few days later the same kid tried to race my buddy with a Cavy(he has i/h/e) and my buddy smoked him on the same stretch of road. *shakes head*

There is no reason a 250 whp car shouldn't go atleast a 13.4 or better. Gre_v1, I love to eat the billy badass type. Nothing like slaughtering the tires in second gear and driving past a unsuspecting victim!

OK to clear things up... The tC i am talking about has a stage 0 ZPI kit. It is estimated to put about 235 to the ground?? That's what i hear anyway. Maybe i'm wrong. And it definitely wasn't a bad driver because three different drivers, all experienced, came out with only .2 seconds difference between the three runs. It was 91 degrees outside, that may have had some thing to do with it but i wouldn't think it would make that big of a difference.

And a strange side note... His tC was running low to mid 14s (stock tires) at 96-97mph. And my tC was running mid 15s at 93mph. Thats one full second faster and only 3 mph faster? My car has a TON of balls up high but not so much off the line.

Just last month actually, i raped a dodge ram HEMI on the highway so bad that i actually went around him in between 65-100 mph, lol. But HEMI Rams run about 1-2 seconds faster in the quarter?? I am a little confused.

I hope this thread goes back on topic,I just wanted to clear things up for the public, so if anyone has off topic questions, please PM me, thanks.

trap speed hardly says much about your e/t. all it does is give you an idea about the potential of your car. i know people that can run my car (well, not my car exactly, lol, but the rsx-s and same yr) a couple tenths faster meanwhile my trap speed is still a few mph over theres.

and for those of you comparing different cars with equal power...lame. that's apples and oranges. just because car A has 235whp, and car B has 235whp, does not mean they both run same times. there are OTHER factors. weight, powerband, aerodynamics, different tires for different makes, etc

if you spin out off the line your trap speed is going to be higher and your time will be slower. but if you hook up and pull a better 60' your time will be faster but your speed will be slower.

example: when i was running my car with my 225/45/18 nitto neo gens i was only pulling a 2.3 60' at best. my times was coming in at 13.8-13.9. my mph was range was from 103-106mph.

then when i changed my tires out to a set of 235/40/18 dunlops i was able to get a constant 2.1 60'times and my car was only trapping 101mph. since i was running better 60' times i was able to run a 13.701. the car itself was not changed at all.

so that is just an example of how launching the car can change your times and trap speed.

Car is being put on hold until further notice. Work will continue pending on if i get the new toy i want or not. I will keep you all posted.

UPDATE ON THE TUNE. It went ok but a few little issues that are causing my performance to be less than expected have shown themselves. Now I have to resolve them when I get the chance and it will be back to PTuning for the finishing touches.

Awesome example, thanks. It didn't feel like i was spinning, but with the ETD it's near impossible to tell. I'd love to run again with my new tires and pulley, but at 100K miles, i think i'm done beating on it at the track.

just happy to help.

when your tires are spinning do they make any noise or no. i know i've had tires that when they are spinning like crazy don't make a single noise and makes it a little harder to tell if your spinning sometimes. not always but sometimes.

Yeah, they don't make a single chirp of a noise. Funny story... I was on a REALLY steep hill this past summer, about 40 degrees, maybe steeper. All i know is that it would be hard even to just walk up. But, with my luck i got stuck at the red light in the middle of the hill. When the light turned green, i pressed the gas and released the clutch. The RPMs shot up to 6K but i stayed still. I was like WTF! my car was in gear, is something wrong with my tranny?? So i try again and the same thing happened. As i was starting to get really worried.... two BIG clouds of white smoke started billowing out from the wheel wells, lol. So i had to do the E-brake trick to get moving, because any type of reverse movement, resulted in peeling out once they got traction.

Well after a long absence at the track I went up to race against my friend's 2007 Civic LX. Being rusty as hell I was a little worried about the race and thought I'd mis-shift all over the place. When the tree turned green I guess I panicked and I had alot of wheel slip and stayed side by side with the Civic off the line, but afterwards I just kept pulling and pulling and pulling Finished the 1/4 with a 16.5 whereas he hit a 17.5 Next up was a BCP tC with pretty much the same setup as mine, I lost that one pretty bad but I improved on my time at least.. 16.3 against a 16 flat What I wasn't expecting was that the same tC beat a 2007 SI he had a 16.0-something and the SI hit a 16.2. Freakin disgusted with myself for sucking at launching that night... But I won't hit the track again until I get my o2 sensor and exhaust leaks fixed ARGH!!!!

The climate here is different compared to the states. I didn't really notice how much it affected 1/4 times till military dudes racing at the track were scratching their heads wondering why they were suddenly running half a second or more slower than back in the mainland. :o

I absolutely cruched a new VW rabbit. From 60-90 i put about 8 car lengths on him. And yes he was racing because he started it and we were tailgating each other in traffic until it opened up and no cars were around. He went around me and as soon as he got to my side door i punched it and immediately took off ahead!!

8 car lengths from 60-90??? that seems like a lot...is this the new VW rabbit? cause i thought they were pretty quick. stats are almost the same as the tc, even weight. was it auto or manual?

^^^ I agree with this guy. Actually 8 cars lengths is alot to beat any car by. Specially a N/A car. Now if one had F.I. It would be different.

Honestly i can't 'guarantee' it was a rabbit, it was debadged, i googled it and it looked like the picture that popped up as a rabbit. Yeah it was brand new. I can't really explain how i beat him by that much except to say he was stock, and i am not. I KNOW he was trying because he came up beside me a couple times and cut me off and rode beside me and all that other ricer stuff. And he followed me almost 20 miles on 376 (the major highway between two cities) I just kept messing with him and letting him pass then catchin up and passing but the last time we ran, i finally went balls out and that's when i got him by that much. He gave up, but only AFTER i crushed him by 8ish lengths. It's hard to guess lengths in the rear view mirror, my guess is just an estimation
