but then we really gotta take a step back and ask ourselves: Why would they make cars go as fast as they do if we're not allowed to drive them that fast? They don't make 140 or 160 or w/e your car goes a top speed for no reason. rules were made to be broken. Fight the power and REBEL hahaha!!

I'll have to chalk this one down as a loss because I backed down... wisely.

So I come to a stop and I see a 2003 Model VW Golf pulling up and he's got the 8000k HID, that the first thing I notice

So the light turns green and I delay about one second to hear him take off... he delays and takes off soft at first then he guns it for a moment to show off and I can hear his turbo spool up and it's not the factory turbo that comes on a 1.8

This was a loud spool, and since the original badging says 1.8T and he put another badge that says GTI, so he must have been one of those VW ricers..

I'm going to assume it was the 1.8 with an aftermarket turbo which means he had at least 200 whp min

I know I would have lost and it was a 25 mph zone, so I left this one alone.

LOSS

^ Nice try, and props for letting off.

But from 0-25 or 30mph I would have thought we would stand a chance. They need time to spool right?

depends on how hes got it tuned and where hes getting max boost, but wither way he'd have to hit at least 4k rpms probably to spool it up

I'm on I-85 S and I see this bubble looking hatchback coming up on my rear at about 80-85 mph, so I downshift into 4th to see if I can at least match speed and he just keeps pushing his car.

As my RPM is climbing, I look at the badging at it's a Kia Rondo LXV6... I can hear his engine RPM revving high and I'm near redline in 4th before I go into 5th.. he pushed his car really hard to outdo me, but I just pulled away.. it wasn't what you'd call a kill, but it seemed very obvious that my car had a better high end pull and when I moved into 5th it was already over.

I was curious about the specs of KIA's V6, so I went onto edmonds.com

2007 KIA RONDO

although it's an ugly hatchback wagon looking thing, it's faster than a stock tC.

I'm 99% certain this vehicle would be left behind at the starting line due to it's weight.

Haha, nice man. Kia Rondo, isn't the car with the very annoying commercial?

Anyway, sounds like its got low hp for a V6. 180ish? Maybe cause its displacement is 2.7L, haha.

Hmm, its a little heavier, and Im sure only in auto transmission. Think maybe a stock manual tC can take it?

from a start, any stock manual tC would own this ugly thing called a Rondo...

I was surprised by it's pull on the highway, it wasn't a breeze for me to pass it.. at least it wasn't an easy kill.

Here is a story I was in the right lane at a red light with a 04 v6 Mustang next to me. I beat him off the line cut in front of him. the lanes skinny down to one. I looked into my mirror to see that I was number one to him. That is what the middle finger means right?

hahahaha Nice!

Ran a early 2K Audi A4 (maybe the 2.0/2.4 version but not the 1.8T and not AWD) about 2-3 days ago. , I won...3 times in a row!!! 2 were on light to light runs with NO ONE on the road other than us 2. I got him from the line both times and kept a steady distance for about 1/2 mile or about 120 mph. The final run lead onto the highway and from there, I just held the same 1 car distance from him for about 3 miles and I just let off. About 1 mile past from where I let off I saw blue/red lights and a very "familiar" A4 pulled over

Ok me and the last gen Z28 (i know... I'll lose) but it was just fer fun. Anyways kept w/ him thru 1st and 2nd, due to wheelspin.

But I guess he beat me... he was the one who got pulled over by Santa Clara's finest.

All I can say is that you have to know when to let off the gas pedal and coast back down to the speed limit. My detector began to bleep just as I started to let off showing a K detection on the highway so that's DEFINATELY a cop. I guess he needed to invest in a detector.

I have a buddy who just bought a '07 Lexus IS250. Now I like to try and race cars that I know will beet me just so I can see how well my tC can stand up. It is too easy to find the cars you know you'll win against. I like the challenge. Anyway my 4 banger smoked his IS. Funny thing is that his car is a stick and trust me, he knows how to drive. Even though his car is stock, it felt good to take him seeing as though he has a V6 with more HP. I have not been Dyno'd but at least I have an idea what I am holding now. Also I have a buddy with a Cobalt SS. I smoked him too bud he doesn't really know how to drive stick all that well. Not to mention he has the worst traction I have ever seen. But he still talks smack. I have to say though, his supercharger sounds soooo sweet!!! I just can't seem to find any good racers out there!

^Hmm, against an IS250... I could actually see us doin that. Seems plausible doesn't it? Maybe Web or Orin can shed some more light on to that.

I know the Lexus IS250 has 162 whp (204bhp) in an automatic and weighs about 500 lbs more than a tC.. that's all I know.

I am telling you for the money spent on the IS, it is slow!!!! I am willing to bet that a stock tC could take it as long as we have someone who knows how to drive. Don't get me wrong they are nice cars, but not really meant for power cause there are no parts for them unless you step up to the IS350. Then we can't touch it unless you have some serious boost!

I gave a 1998 z24 cavalier a 2 sec head start and still beat him in a 1/4 mile. Then I raced a 04 civic si and beat him by 2 car lengths.

How's this for a loss. I was on my way to Savannah, and was about 20 miles out. I was bored and needed to pee, so I got on it. My radar detector suddenly goes nuts (1st pop) and so I start braking. The detector jumped from 6 to 9 (2nd pop) and I was doing my best to slow down. Well, long story short, I was pwned hard. 114 MPH in a 70 mph zone. There was not a car in sight, so I wasn't being an asshat weaving through traffic. I just wanted to get there after 3 hours of driving!!! I just paid that ticket this past Tuesday.....$700 and 3 points on my license (judge reduced the points from

My car isn't the fastest car out there, but I'll tell ya....
