I hit 115 in 5th (I had just shifted into it at around 110) and looked in my side view and saw that I still was pulling a bit so I just let off and he stopped and stayed 3-4 lengths back behind me the rest of the 3 miles on the road. He never came back up to me  .....haha

No, I let off at 115 and for the next 3 miles he wouldn't come up to pace me. I just coasted in 5th down to about 70 but he never came back up

Careful! The 1999 Elantra starts at around 150 hp and with just an intake and CAT back exhaust is pushing 200 hp  ......they can easily beat dual exhaust Sunfires.....they're fast even though they don't seem like it!

Raced Greg50Lt's Si and my buddy's Fusion tonight. We all started bad...haha.....Greg bogged, I skipped tires (it's cold out), and my buddy has an auto...just slower reaction.
All and all, it was an "ok" race. The Fusion balled off the line and was enough to make me sweat. Greg's Si bogged but into 3rd, he started coming up. Around 4th I had about 1/2 length on the Fusion and Greg was coming up to my front fender but we all shut down b/c of another light with traffic.
We'll have better races when it warms up.
My 2nd race...haha
POS (88-91) civic hatch with a big pipe on the rear. I look over and he nods to get ready so I say "what the hell?" In 3rd (i'm only at 3200ish though )we launch and the f*cker pulls 2 lengths on me hard. hahahaha..........I instantly said "Oh sh*t!" We finish up just under a 1/4 mark and he had me by a good 2 lengths easy. I pull up next to him and ask say... "Please tell me you have a swap..".......he laughed, but not like an a**, and said "Yeah, it's an H22."
Right then I was like....."Yeah.......hahaha...".......H22 in a car that weighs MAYBE 2100 lbs.......good run but that car was just all motor and I looked like I was sitting still.
Fun times though....fun times

Just took my buddy's Fusion from the line. It's the V6 w/ 6 speed auto.
I had no spin and locked each gear to basic perfection. I had about a 1 length hard pull in 1st, and then as I hit 2nd and 3rd at 6000 rpm with no more than a 2-300 rpm drop in the shift, I kept pulling. By about 100 mph I had him by 3 lengths .
Damn, am I the only one racing ?
Guess I have the summer jitters and this is what my friday/saturday nights will be like at the track

nah ur not the only one...i raced a few cars yesterday but i wasnt driving my car....
my homegirl has a vw gti 2.0t...its auto wit tiptronic...i raced a civic, vw jetta, and tried to get a modded tc to race me but he didnt want a piece of me....needless to say that lil fucker is fast...handles well also....i like my tc better personally...just wish it was turbo'd........
the crazy shit about her car tho....its automatic and it chirps in second and third gear...tiptronic is also fun...has the controls on the steering wheel...feels like im playing a video game instead of driving...

talking about highway racing
last night i raced a old integra
sounding ricy last night
i thought i was gunna get smoked but
me and my brother were just like wat the
hell lets have a lil fun so we followed the guy
and he just nodded his head and took off so we
took off also and just passed him we slowed
for him to catch up and get a even start
and then we both took off and we were pretty even
but when i shifted to 5th we just left him behind
i hit about 110!!! pretty crazy and intense
after that i guess i am going to really put
attention to the car and modding!!!!

I dont know if this is really a race, but no point in creating a separate thread for it.
So I was on 495 heading for school this morning. I was goin ~70mph, usual speed for traffic. Then I start pulling up on this old Altima that was damn loud. It was in the left most lane, and I was in the lane adjacent to it. While I slowly pass it, the three guys in the car point and laugh at me. As if that weren't embarassing enough, the guy in the passenger seat rolls down his window, spits in front of my car (maybe not in disrespect, but it was pretty dick anyway) and then waves to me.
I felt pretty weird, so I tried pulling ahead of it. I saw it in my side view mirror and was glad I had lost them. but after a few moments, the Altima sped up next to (again, the three guys laughing at me) and sped off. I would have loved to have caught up to it, but I was getting close to the car ahead of me.
Damn: Altima- 1 Me- 0

It's all good.........with those 3 people and since it was an older model (around 160ish maybe HP), you would have taken him. It's all good though...let them laugh. At least you're not a scrub riding in your buddy's car

i was riding in my friends altima 2.5s auto going home from stony brook at 11 30 pm on the LIE. we saw a white xB with hids, white rims, white turning signals, and i think tints cause it was hard to see the driver, but not sure it was mad dark out. anyway, the guy had a loud exhaust, and floored it past us. my friend started cracking up and caught up to him, and just burned him lol. it was fun i guess  i also noticed a scionrg sticker on his window...so had to show him wuts up and which club REALLY owns the LIE

Anyone else find the new Altimas so freakin sekcy? It looks like Nissan finally did something right in terms of designing the looks of a car in years! The new Altimas seem smaller and lower to the ground whereas they made their Maximas and Sentras fatter and uglier o_O

So i went driving with my friend so he can blow some steam and i was taking him around and we hit this long stretch of industrial roads. He was behind me and i come up on this stop light, and then he pulls up next to me in his 04 ...sorry, in his DAD's 04 corolla CE. I was laughing quite heartily in my mind.
On green we go, but I didn't bother really launching it, I just started off like i usually do when daily driving and then I gunned it when the clutch was fully engaged. He was ahead right when i launched, but even when I was fully engaged i only managed to stay neck and neck with him in first gear I was like "holy crap! I'll be damned if I lose to that stupid corolla " but luckily 2nd gear came and in 2nd gear I pulled 3-4 cars on him...I'm not sure what to think but do our cars pull harder in 2nd gear? Since first gear is the shortest ratio shouldnt it have the greatest rate of acceleration? Oh and by the way his corolla was an auto.
You can't learn me nothin... |
