Question about touch up

 Hey guys

My car went through one of those automatic car wash things (huge mistake) and now the lip on my rims has lost some paint (black with shiny silver lip, not chrome though). This is due to the acid-base in the wash i suppose.

So i was wondering, is there any way to touch up the paint on the lip?

 I dont think the car wash uses acid based fluids to wash your car. Chances are something else caused this. I used to never trust those drive threw car washes until i started reading up on it. I sometimes take it to the detail shop but im not comfortable taking it to a DIY drive threw gas station. Here are some links on the advantages of professional car washes:

Also you can use some touch up pain on your rims but make sure you match the paint right.

 i used a carwash in Watertown Called Witts Wash and if the carwash uses a presoak solution not just water it does contain strong additives to help loosen the dirt grim and bugs. Basicall when even i worked with the solution i had to wear an old shirt cuz the solution would eat through my shirt. Now they claim it wont hurt the paint or clearcoat and i have never seen it happen. But on some cheaply made rims ive sean it eat through the clear coat on them and make them start to peel. Most gas station/carwashes used solution from a company called blue coral, i believe that turtle owns them but not sure. I used blue coral and we had 126 ft conveyor full service carwash and 8 self serve bays never had a isuue with them we were in bussiness for eleven years before we had to sell do to father having stroke but just my two bits on carwashes
