Dunno where u could find one in that area but i will tell ya this...the kenwood dvd players are a pain in the butt to use.... im a installer at a local stereo shop and just installed a kenwood player into a audi and it was the new touch screen (don-t know what model number it was or i would tell ya) but i didn-t like it at all.... but some people like things i don-t...a couple i will recommend is the new pioneer touch-screen dvd and the blaupunkt chicago.. both are excellent players and are really easy to use...

the reason that it was hard to use is that they didn-t incorporate all of the features into the touch screen...somethings u can only do on the screen, then some are only on the remote....it just kinda gets complicated going in between the two

Well, just got the kenwood double din dvd installed last night and it looks awesome Great head unit, but the only problem is I cant watch while driving and my installer wont bypass it for me. Anyone here with the kenwood know how to bypass the parking brake sensor

nevermind, figured it out. just grounded 2 wires and voila. anyways, the kenwood is an incredible head unit. imo, after debating on the eclipse 2454 or the kenwood, the kenwood is the better choice. hopefully i can finally get pics of my car.

This may be a stupid question, but I cant help but wonder, why do you want to watch while you drive? I think it-s...ah well, just so long as you dont crash and injure someone else.

I have no idea how the dvd players work. Let me ask, are you allowed to access the audio controls when you are driving? As in, listen to music not watch dvds. I-m a little confused, I thought the controls are touch screen.

Yes, you can access audio controls while driving. you access presets via touchscreen. volume is the only control that isnt accessible thru touchscreen.

instead of directly grounding the wires to enable driving and dvd playback you should install a switch that you can turn on and off. If you notice to the left of the steering wheel where the side mirror adjustment is there are 4 panels (3 blank if you have security installed). You could easily modify one of those panels to house your switch.thats what I-m going to be doing when I can afford the eclipse system.

When you put a cd or dvd in the double din doesn-t the face plate slide down and hit the bottom? I want to get one but thought it wouldnt have enough room to open.

no it never hits my dash. i guess u think the screen just slides down, but instead the bottom pushes forward putting the screen at an angle allowing the top to lower to give room to load a cd. i would guess the eclipse does the same.

its all about show. i had my tv in my honda and just played movies and drove. idk if the double din will do it but i had mine so i could have picture and play music at the same time. you should of seen this car i saw last night buick regal with a 12inch screen fold down in the back. i think thats to much. I-m about to purchase a used ddx from someone at scionlife, but just wanted to know everyone-s opinion. The dvd player is alledgedly 2 months old, etc. looks great, and im very excited to get it. ive always looked on ebay for one, and have seen one everytime for about 899-1000.I-ve heard these are rebuilt and/or refurbished...this true I plan on installing it myself, how hard is the install I know theres another thread about the ddx and eclipse, but i wanted to know about people-s experiences (if applicable) on E-bay with kenwood ddx double din, or any other dvd system. thanks a lot.

The ones on ebay are not used some of them are but if you look around there are legit sellers out there. I got it about 6 months ago on ebay and it was brand new(abccarstereo). I suggest gettig it professionally installed. I got mind installed for 75 dollars and he even grounded it so i can play it while driving. It looks really good too

Man i would go to the kendwood site and see if he registered it. Not saying no to thrust the guy but just to cover you. The system has a 1 year warranty with them. He might have registered it but just to be sure i would suggest to check with him or kenwood.
