Sup guys. First time posting in these forums. Anyways I have a 05" TC that just passed the 50k mile mark. woooooooo. My brakes are about to go! What are the best brakes out there right now for the TC? Ok after researching some brakes a little bit, I definately don't need the best brake kit. My car is stock so can you guys give me a few good ideas for rotor/ caliper combo? thanks alot |

http://www.trdsparks.com/..._cat=11&parts_id=1142 Check this link out. Really good brakes especially if you don't slam on them hard they should last a long time 50K with stock brake is very good. 2008 G37 OB Sport 6MT... 2007 335I 4DR... |

Depends on what you want to spend. The link above on the other post is a good set. I got my rotors off ebay for 170 shipped front/rear cross drilled and slotted. Got a set of EBC green stuff brake pads too front/rear 150 shipped. Unless you do some racing or heavy, heavy stopping, the kit above is way more than you'll need and a pretty penny more than you want to spend. I'm happy with mine and the cross-drilled/slotted combo is nice. Keeps the rims pretty clean between washings. Check them out on ebay and PM me if you have questions. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. http://clubsciontc.com/fo...-rims--5x100-pattern.html |

Thats TWICE the suggested length of 25,000. I don't think theres any way pads could last that long. Maybe the rotors if you had them cut in once. Cross drilled/slotted rotors "keep the rims clean??" thats a first. They're known to produce more dust than stockCross drilled/slotted rotors are designed to race spec for highly tuned powerful and fast cars. Theres LESS rotor surface area, WAY MORE brake dust, and they eat up pads. and i wouldn't buy anything that is responsible for potentially saving your life off ebay. I got OEM style rotors, by I forget which company and ceramic pads by Wagner. Slight increase over oem stopping power..and i didn't break the bank. |

Never had any problem with the ebay ones on my truck that lasted 60K before needing to change out rotors and pads. No warping or anything. Same with the ones I've got on now. I've had them on for 10K and still nice and smooth and the pads are almost untouched. They've kept my rims cleaner longer than the stock pads. The stock setup always kept the brake dust around the rotor and on the inside of the rim. The slots are working for me on pushing away the dust and the holes are nice in the rain allowing for a dryer braking surface. I've never had a problem with ebay and will always keep buying from them. Like you said,
I've used EBC pads for 6 years and have never had any complaints and same thing with the rotors. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. http://clubsciontc.com/fo...-rims--5x100-pattern.html |

the drilled out holes are to better ventilate the rotor and keep the temps down. Nothing to do with channleing away rain water. The slots are actually biting pieces out of your pads to increase stopping power. They INCREASE brake dust. Maybe your setup just brakes all the rules of popular mechanics |

Another post where "TCFuzion" is the bomb!! Yes, slots cut into the pad creating a new "bite" surface each time you brake, AND slots are also designed to *channel dust away from the rotor. And yes, holes enhance stopping power in rain b/c less surface area = less area for water to become "attached." Common sense, but I guess they don't teach that in all the articles that you read. Guess it's just another thing you have to learn on your own. Hopefully this helps. Proboly won't b/c there'll be another post below this from ya. But, again, I'm done b/c it's just going to end up like all the other posts that you have to have the last word in. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. http://clubsciontc.com/fo...-rims--5x100-pattern.html |

You can find some really nice slotted rotors on ebay for cheap, but most likely, all you need is new pads. Rotors don't usually need replacement unless you warped them bad. Heres an idea, try ceramic brake pads. You can't see the dust off of them because it's light colored, but even better is that it doesn't corrode your alloy rims like normal metallic pads. |
