I have 18 x 8.5 with 35 offset, zero rubbing and it give it a sweet lip, and wider stance

If you go 18, stick with the 18X7 b/c 225 fits perfectly on that size wheel. If you get a 7.5 you can go up to 245 but you WILL rub. Offsets/lips are for SUVs and Ghetto ass cars. Just stick JDM style and keep a very small lip and just go for a quiet, subtle style.

Complaining is futile when you supported the victory.

Go with what you like, everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion, it's your car, not thiers. lots or cars are going with lips these days, even many imports that are "JDM" after being in Japan for awhile they are rockin lips, so it's a matter of personal taste, and if you want to go JDM, FYI are cars are not even sold in Japan so really we have no JDM parts.

Oh, I do realize that and I agree it's personal opinion. And yes, I realize our cars are not sold in Japan so are not considered JDM, and that's why I said JDM "style." It's all good though.

Lips seem to only work nicely on either huge SUVs, long luxury cars (bmw, benz, lexus..), or drift cars for a HUGE rear tire appeal. Again, I agree it's personal opinion and that mine. Chose what you want, it is your car.

I take back any negative conatation from my previous comment.

I have 18X8 with 225/40/18 no rubbing and still have some room to expand. I would say that the 18x8.5 would look sick with a lip of about 2’’ Make sure you get the right offset so it looks flush. I like those wheels post picks if you decide to get them.
