Any recommendations?? I'm considering buying TRD's short shifter because I can get it at an employee discount but I was wondering if anyone had any comments that would be helpful...

Thanks...

Actually, after spending more time looking at threads... This is probably a "Interior Mod" so that might be why I haven't found any good results... My bad...

the one most people get is the twm stage 2, do a search on it, shorted throw and shorted height.

I was reading about that... I'm just wondering why they can make just a rod with that much reduction but TRD and other companies have to sell the WHOLE DAMN KIT... Almost feels like I'm missing something...

I'm also worried that 2.5" is TOO much of a cut-down... Seems like I would be hitting my hand on the console or the E-Brake whenever I wanted to shift, lol... I hope it's not THAT small but I guess I won't really know until I try it... Pictures can only tell so much...

PureCrazed: TWM offers two different stages of shifter for the tC. The stage 2 reduces knob height by 2.5" and throw by 35%, and the stage 1 reduces knob height by 1/2" and throw by 25%. The stage 1 is more similar to what TRD offers in terms of throw and knob height reduction, and the stage 2 is more aggressive.

Here's a link to the page where both stages of short shifter can be found: TWM tC short shifters

I hope this helps,

Kevin

Actually, I just sent you my ID's this morning and got my promotional code... I then ordered my Stage 2 right after... My biggest concern is that it will be TOO short but it's worth a try... Now I just need to find a nice boot to match...

Thanks

I went on EBAY and got mine. 75$ shipped and it's the entire assembly. Greased already and put together. No fuss. Just unbolt the other one and the two shift cables, which are the hardest parts, and then just bolt the new one town.....About 1 inch drop and "at least" 50% reduction. Feels like i'm driving a Miata manual if you've ever driven one. Shift with my wrist.....IT'S GREAT

Go to ebay motors and look for JDM racing short shifter. I got the one with the gunmetal shifter but scratched it with my ring trying to put it on.....I just put the stock one on and it actually looks better.

if you want pics of the twm stage 2, look in my profile. I have two pics of how short it is.
