OMG..sorry for laughing but

HOW THE FART did they do that? was it sitting in its box on the front porch?

You mean that actually went under you car and unbolted it, pulled it off the hangers and walked away with it???!! thats crazy!!! They used hand tools, in the dark, without the car being lifted, AND you didn't hear them??

Thats just about the funniest story i've ever heard! sorry.

File a police report. Your car insurance may cover that.

It was raining all night so i guess that's when they went for the kill. man this sucks i wanna get a new exhaust but whats to keep them from doing it again. I'll file a report but what can they do and as for the insurance in the long run it would cost less to just get somethin off of ebay rether than have my rates go up.

if something gets stolen off the outside of your car as its parked outside your home, it shouldn't make your rates go up. sorry again man, that sucks. Someone should find those guys and hire them! anyone who can get an exhaust off like that should be making money workin on cars!

first off, your insurance will not cover it anyway because it is an aftermarket part, but they could cover the stock muffler, which definitely isnt worth ur deductible and rates going up. I would try looking for a universal exhaust for now which is cheap (100-200) and later, when u get the money, get a better exhaust. Kinda weird though, i actually had a nightmare about this one time when i was 18 with my civic. I dreamt that somebody stole my exhaust in the night. Then i thought to myself, "this would never happen, who would want this?" Well, it looks like i'm gonna have a recurring nightmare now. Sorry to hear about ur misfortune

The TRD muffler stolen wasnt an aftermarket and when iget my money back i'll definitely find a cheap universial muffler thats requires welding and for my deductable i'll get that back after my taxes.

the TRD muffler IS an aftermarket muffler...it does not come stock on the car. Just because it can come as an option, does not make it stock. TRD is not toyota, it is a company (racing) that toyota has allowed to use their moniker. Toyota has no actual affiliation with TRD

I dont think so, when my 03 corolla was hit from behind, my TRD exhaust was damaged and my insurance company which is State Farm covered it. Well it is a different scenario but i think it is covered.

A kid could not have gotten the hooks out of the rubber hangers. That takes some muscle.

I'm pretty sure those rubber hangers are pretty friggin thick. Good luck cutting them. I mean, its possible, but you're gonna need a sharp knife and lots of elbow grease.

Wait, YOU're 15 sfdee12sf???

your insurance will cover the part. If you didnt add it on later then they should already know that its on your car. You can install a $2000 aftermarket (obviously not stock) head unit and as long as you tell insurance that you added it, they will increase your insurance but also cover you if something happens to it... Insurance will cover aftermarket parts if you tell them its on the car, otherwise they continue to insure it for the stock parts..

you don't need to "tell" your insurance company BEFORE something happens. Just tell them the parts that you have and provide a receipt to show proof of purchase. A picture wouldn't hurt either. I'm sure you have a pic of the exhaust rite? I wouldn't even bother telling them it was aftermarket (the TRD parts are not AFTERMARKET as they are OPTIONS when you purchase the car and they are made by the original equipment manufacturer-Toyota.)

Yea you do have to tell insurance what you have done with the car, otherwise they will continue to insure it only for the stock value. If you get a custom widebody kit with paint for $10 grand and you don't tell them, your insuarance will stay the same. They will only pay you for damages as if the car was stock. They won't cover the body work. Trust me, I've been in the situation...

And YES TRD parts are AFTERMARKET. THEY ARE NOT TOYOTA PARTS. THEY ARE NOT MADE BY TOYOTA. Guess that shows what you know about cars fuzion... If you dont believe me search the forums and find the thread...

ya some fuck heads tried to steal the exhaust i had on my old car, a 98 corolla. the good this was that i had a very sensitive alarm, and my muffler was welded on. i live in a 2 story house and from where my room is, theres a window on the side where my car is parked so if i look out the window, i could see my car in perfect view. luckily i had the window open at the time and i was in the room too, cuz i heard them pull the muffler down and once the broke the hangers that were welded on the piping, the alarm went off and i ran outside and saw the 2 dumbfucks runnig down the street and turn the corner. illok at my car and see that the muffler was on the floor as well as my whole piping. i ran down the corner to see if i could get theses fuckheads but i guess they had getaway car waiting for them at the corner. i too have the trd axle-back muffler on my tC but ever since that incident, i park my car in the garage so nothing could happen to it. but that sux big time for u, man. im sorry that there is dumbfucks like that that can't appreciate the fact that u got a nice car and that also can't do a thing called "work" and buy it themselves. wel just remember that what goes around comes around and they'll get what they diserve 2x harder!

They are NOT toyota parts. They are TRD parts. It doesn't matter WHO actually fabricates them. They are TRD PRODUCTS. TRD is a division of Toyota. OEM=ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER. SO WHO IS THE manufacturer of the original/stock equipment on the tc??? TOYOTA!!! The parts (eg. TRD exhaust) are offered as options for scions and DO NOT void any warranties. Parts that COME ON YOUR CAR WHEN YOU PICK IT UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP ARE NOT AFTERMARKET.

IN fact, TRD, NISMO, MAZDASPEED aren't even truly considered aftermarket companies. They are factory tuning divisions all owned by their respective manufacturers, Toyota, nissan and mazda.

So in your logic i guess the mazdaspeed6 and nismo-tune 350 are AFTERMARKET tuned cars?

I know what you're general point is, but you're taking stuff you read a little too literally.

If you want to get literal and say parts not "made" by toyota aren't genuine toyota parts then the 2AZ is not a toyota part either. Unless i'm mistaken (which IS possible) the motor is made by one of the JAP companies, either kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha...etc..

When you get the new muffle assembly, get it welded at the rear flange. Then, if someone tries to steal it again, they have to slither under your car and I would say that they would not be able to unbolt it without making noise.
